There are a few things you have to look at before passing judgement. First you have to look at the age. They are older homes so not everything is going to be perfect. The second thing to look at is price. I pay $960 on 3bed/2bath home, water included. A very good price in my opinion. There is always plenty of parking. The staff is very nice. It is a very well behaved community. It's safe for children. They have an ice cream truck that passes through. :) There have been several contests since I've lived here. Verizon FiOS is also availible here (huge plus). So in general it's a good place to live, but I'll give you both sides. Upon moving in we were told that the house was not ready yet. Unfortunately we had to move in on the move-in day so we had to work around maintenance for the first week. We did find lots of things that needed repair and we had make a list a couple of times to have maintence come take care of. The maintenance crew consists of about three guys. They are all very nice, but the maintenance work is just something to "get-you-by." There isn't much professionalism. There is a lot of "rigging" things to work. They would probably save more money by hiring a couple of professional workers who take pride in the functionality and aesthetic parts of their work. Yet theys still get it done. Also, our oven doesn't work like it should. We would much rather use our own oven, but the original oven is built in. We had someone come out and look "fix" it, but we have had to adjust how we cook a bit. There are times where the kids won't get out of the road, even if you're two feet from hitting them. Not too big of a deal, but it happens. My home happens to amongst several black people's homes as well. Most of my neigbors are cool (Lewis was just over last night playing video games with us), but there is the occasional argument that breaks out and it can get pretty loud. For some it's obnoxious, for other (like myself) it's something to laugh at. And every once in a while you can catch them smoking a blunt or trying to buy a square off of you. This could be good or bad depending on who you are. Overall it's an alright place to live, Not paradise, but not hell either. If you're a pretty laid back person, you'll enjoy yourself. If you anal, then just be prepared for a few flaws. That's it.
