Snakes on the porch

At first we were very happy with our move. We like the attached garage, floorplan and sq. ft, but little did I know we have such a problem with the wildlife here. I have seen several snakes, possums and rats. On day I came home and there was a snake on my porch. Maintenance would not do anything to get it off my porch and another resident has had them in his garage along with rats. The management is not as friendly as they were when we first moved in and the business hours seem to be less and less flexible. After one year our rent is skyrocketing and we are moving out. The air conditioning does not work well either. 3mPoZ6gGN6wTPgNi4L2C

We have put ourselves on the terminix list; however, they have "forgotten" the snake away. I also have a problem with having to call every week in order to have terminix come. I have asked to be permanently put on the list but apparently that is not an option. It's a hassle to call every week.

Hi Management,
Unfortunately, it seems you have taken this listing to be a personal attack of your property. As someone who is searching for a new place, I actually appreciate this listing because something I didn't think about was the wildlife. All I thought- oh! Next to a park to walk my dog! I hope that instead of "calling out" the anonymous listers by name, you'd respectfully agree that this is a potential problem given the location, and then list the actions you have done to help the situation.
Thank you for the review, anonymous. The wildlife in this review did not deter me from renting, but the not-so-customer friendly response has. I'll still check your place out sometime, but with caution.

I do not think the manager posted "a not so friedly response". I think it is actually nice for a manager to take the time and respond to these posts so we can see what they have done and what they are doing with the different situations that arise. It will be nice if every apartment manager takes the time to do this so we can see how they actually handle the problems. Trust me you have not seen the worse of customer service, my current apartment which is not Arbor Hills has roaches and I have been chasing them every morning to kill them. Management will not do anything about it. Infact when I tell them, they reluctantly tell me there is nothing they can do and to wait till terminx comes and they never show up. I will be moving after my 6 months, thank God I only did 6 months.

Dear Anonymous Resident, I'm sorry that you are unhappy about the wildlife here at The Preserve at Arbor Hills. We are located on and right beside the "Nature Preserve" which has a nature preserve, wildlife, trails, creeks, etc. With that comes not just the fun, cute, little bunnies, birds, deer, turtles, etc. Also living next to the preserve comes the not so cute snakes, possums, bobcats, etc. That is part of living on and beside the wildlife park. I'm sure when leasing the apartment you wanted that beautiful preserve view, but not realizing what comes with the "nature" preserve. We do have pest control that will put out snake away, mice traps and other things if requested by you every week. Unfortunately, our maintenance staff is not a pest control service. We do have Terminix on a call in basis only, so if need to request a service please just contact the office and we can take care of those for you on Tuesdays. As for you A/C problem, we would love to take care of that for you if you would identify your self and not write these anonymously, we could take care of that problem for you! Sincerely, The Manager/ The Preserve at Arbor Hills

Dear Anonymous,
I'm sorry that they were out of snake away for 2 weeks, I wish it was more in our hands, but when dealing with an outside contractor we are on their schedule. As for being on a permanent list your right we don't offer that, so if it something you want, you do have to call weekly. As for the snake away itself, this is not a full proof product. Most of the time when the sprinklers come on it washes it away. Moth balls work though and you can put them out whenever you want and that could be a more permanent solution.
Sincerely,
The Manager
