Let me start off by mentioning that I have lived at the Reserve for a little over 2 years, and have had a couple of problems here and there, but I can leave those for another review. Last month was really the straw that broke the camel's back...my vehicle was vandalized for the second time within a one month period. The first incident happened while I was at home. I happened to catch a glimpse of a male teenager running away from the scene, and taking off in a getaway car that was parked at our neighboring apartment homes (Lakeshore at Preston). The second break-in was during 5-10 pm on a Sunday afternoon, while we were gone. When I notified the complex of the first break-in they submitted a letter to all the tenants notifying them of the vandalism. At that point in time I told the complex that the thieves had jumped the metal fence dividing the two complexes. It just doesn't make any sense to me that an apartment townhome community has security gates but then has a fence that does not completely circle and enclose the complex. After we notified the complex of the second occurrence, they just blew us off. Our security gates seem like they break every other day, and it so happens that the evening of the second vandalism, the gate was once again busted. I no longer feel secure in this complex, and I still feel like someone is out there watching me and my car. So please note that if you have a nice car or any valuable belongings in your car, then you better have a vacant garage to park in. Also, after my second incident was reported, another tenant reported an apartment burglary.

Residents are encouraged to call 911 in order to notify local law enforcement if a crime is suspected, occurring, or needs to be reported. Apartment community management cannot provide responsibility for security. Access gates provide limited access; however, do not provide security. 911 was called on both accounts and a police report was also filed following these incidents. The police were very courteous and prompt, and did their best in assisting me in the matters. I guarantee the theives will strike again, if not my vehicle then another, it's only a matter of time. Apparently the theives already managed to burglarize another tenants apartment. I realize "limited-access" gates will not stop the problems from occurring (as we have already noticed), but I believe some sort of action should be taken. It is my opinion that Management do their part to ensure that the "limited-access" gates are not broke on a constant basis, as this will help deter future criminal activity. There should also be a resident officer that lives in the complex (if there is not already) to help further deter burglaries and vandalisms. Adding more lighting to the north and west portions of the complex might also help. These are just a few of my suggestions. Ignoring the problems will just make them worse. These situations need to be confronted and dealt with in a more professional manner. Sending out letters to notify residents of the problems are not going to solve anything, if anything they just scare and worry the tenants even more.

Wow! I was considering moving to these apartments despite the other reviews but I love my car and this review makes me think twice.
