Stay Far, Far Away!!!

I have unfortunately been a resident of "The Reserve At Charles Place" for a number of years now, and I have to say that this is the worse place I have ever lived. I would definitely never recommend this apartment complex to anyone. Why do I say this' These are my 5 top reasons:
1. It has snotty office staff that seem to only be there to collect the rent, and to show apartments to new tenants. Many times I have gone to the rental office for a number of different reasons, and it was a wasted effort because the office was unattended since all of the staff was out showing apartments. Also, any problem/complaint is met with empty assurances, yet nothing is ever done about it.
2. On the surface this appears to be a nice apartment complex, but if you look closely you can spot all the cheap building materials they used to build this complex with. All of the inside doors and woodwork are made out of a pressed cardboard material... Something I have never run into before. The carpet is the worst color (light beige) and low quality, so it crushes down easily in high traffic areas. I could go on, and on, but you get the picture.
3. When I first moved in there were decent maintenance workers, but it seems that they were all driven away because of the poor morale in this complex. Now the maintenance manager is the kind of person who will tell you one thing, but do another, then try to blame the problem on you, and look for an excuse not to fix it. Getting something major fixed here is like pulling hen's teeth, and I try to call on them as little as possible. Plus, all maintenance requests have to now go through an offsite 800 number, so things are no longer fixed in a timely manner.
4. There's a HUGE problem with people not cleaning up after their dogs. My child can't even go out onto any open grassy area because of the dog waste that is everywhere. This has consistently been a problem on this property for the entire time I've lived here, and yet nothing ever happens to the perpetrators. Dogs, of all breeds, are also frequently let off their leashes, and allowed to run around freely.
5. In this complex there's a rule that children under 14 are supposed to be supervised by an adult, yet everyday I see young unattended children playing and running around on the property. Not to mention the packs of teenagers who constantly loiter around in the evenings.
I could go on, and on, but I'll just stop here. Needless to say, I cannot wait to move from this place!!! If I knew then what I know now I would have NEVER moved here. Heed my advice, and stay far away from this place if you're looking for a decent apartment complex to live in. It may, at first, look like a good place to live, but you'll soon learn different. Don't make the same mistake I made.
I'm sure that soon the management will write a comment stating something like "no complex is perfect... You should inform management about these problems... blah, blah, blah.", but they know all about these problems, yet nothing is ever done. It has become quite obvious to me that this complex is like this because Trammell Crow only wants to squeeze as much money from this property as they possibly can, and are not truly interested in making people happy.

I've lived on this property since 09/04 and maybe I'm just that special but I've never encountered the things that you claim. I've had my dishwasher overflow and they were out the same day to fix it. I had my garbage disposal break and cause my kitchen sink to overflow and they came out on a Saturday and when the maintenance guy couldn't fix it, they called in a plumber who came within an hour and fixed the problem. So while I'm sorry that they didn't do you justice, I've yet to have a complaint about them in the are of maintenance. As for the kids that run around, yes it is very aggrevating, however, I made one complaint and I didn't see anymore children outside for quite some time after. You have to remember that the kids are the parents' responsibility not management. They're not here to babysit for lazy parents who don't give a rat's ass that they could get run over in the parking lot. The dog waste has never been an issue for me, I don't have pets and have no reason to be out in the grassy area, but I do agree with you that dog owners should be more competent and that perhaps management should get more involved in keeping the grass clean. As for the cheap building materials and the nasty carpet color, why didn't YOU notice all these things before you moved in if you're such an expert??? You didn't see an apt before you rented one? You didn't see the carpet color? You didn't notice the cheap building materials? Come on now...don't take it out on the complex if you didn't do your research.... |
