The apartments are nice enough and the people living there are fine. However, the management was the absolute worst. Nice to your face, but don't handle their *(#($**# business!!! You had better read every word of your lease and go by it. Don't go by anything management tells you. They should be the subject matter experts, but they don't care. Granted, the management that screwed me over is now gone, but I give you fair warning. I went over the management office back in Jan 2005 to give them notice of leaving. They said they "put it in the computer." I asked if I needed to fill out any paperwork and the answer was "no, you are set." I stated that the lease called for an official form to sign as proof, but they said I didnt' need, it was just a formality. Previous to this, I contacted management no less than 6 times trying to find out what to do. So I moved 5 months later and then get a letter from an attourney saying I owe rent for the next three months. I called the office and now they have all new management who doesn't give a rip about finding my name in the computer. They just informed me that despite being led astray, it was ultimately my fault for believing anything or anyone other than the letter of the lease. Take it from me...this is all business. READ YOUR LEASE AND MAKE THEM FOLLOW IT TO THE LETTER. The vacate notice is a law in Texas. MAKE THEM SIGN IT! Don't leave anything, don't call, get the manager to sign this official notice and then you can use this it something happens. I don't know why ownership tolerates such behavior by employees, but it appears to be common in property management. I can't imagine it. I would have given them several referrals had they treated me with common respect and decency. The apartments are a good value. So just take care of business. Be assertive, they aren't your friends.

I had the exact same experience happen with my lease. I must have spoken to the management at least 5 times and they denied that there was any paperwork that I had to fill out. Month after I left I was informed that I had evacuated my lease without the proper paperwork and tried to charge me the fines. The management does not care about looking into these situations and I was told that it was my fault that this situation happened. I did everything I knew to do to get the management to fill out the paperwork and I was turned down every time. Never trust this apartment complex's management.

Might be a good idea to sent the notice as a confirmed letter...what do you think?
