So my fiance, son, and I went to look at Ridgeview Ranch. Josie, the office manager, was super nice and greeted us fairly quickly. She then showed us a 3 bedroom, 2 bath. The apartment itself was fairly nice, although I have a feeling that the complex is having foundation issues because at least 3 doors didn't line up straight at all. A few things made me weary, there weren't a lot of tenants there at all, you could clearly see how many units were empty and the grass was littered with dog waste. Granted the dog waste isn't necessarily the management's fault, however they should enforce rules a little more to try and prevent tenants from leaving their dog's waste on the grass. After we toured the apartment Josie took us back to the office and then started spewing out discounts and some almost too good to be true deals. She offered us no deposit, discounted rent, and first month's rent for free. Almost any human being would be sucked in by a deal like that. Well we proceeded to fill out paperwork and one odd thing I noticed is that they don't use the standard Texas Apartment Renters Association applications. I find it odd that a complex would not use those almost standardized applications. Well we continued to fill out the application. We hadn't turned in our notice to vacate at our current apartment complex so Josie said she couldn't run our apps yet because of that. She got really pushy when it came to collecting the administrative fee and the application fee, which was a little alarming since she was so nice to begin with. Here's the biggest reason why I strongly recommend that people stay away from this property.
Early the next morning I received a call from my dad's doctor and apparently his leukemia had gotten worse and he is requiring chemotherapy. Well being that this unforseen circumstance hit my family and I decided to hold off on renting a new place so we could help my dad out and take care of him while he is going through his chemo. I went to talk to Josie early that day and told her what was going on. I explained the situation and asked very politely what she could do as far as refunding any of the fees. She said she would have to talk to her management and corporate and she said I would hear back from her later that afternoon but if I didn't then to call her back on Monday. Low and behold I didn't hear back from her and every time I've tried to call her or email her I've gotten no response what so ever. I understand that it costs properties to run applications and such, however she specifically told us that she couldn't run our apps until our move out notices were turned in at our current property and with that being said there is no reason why they couldn't refund, at the very least, the application fee. I even told here that I understood if they couldn't refund the administrative fees. Actions speak louder than words and Josie's actions have proven to me that she's very dishonest and that also shows to me that the property management company could be dishonest as well. After all this I decided to dig deeper into the Connor Group and I found over 200 complaints filled with the Better Business Bureau in the last 36 months, that speaks volumes to how terrible they run business. It takes a lot to drive a consumer to file a complaint with the BBB and a company having that many complaints in a relatively short amount for time speaks volumes of how badly they conduct business.
I strongly recommend that everyone stay away from Ridgeview Ranch and any property owned by the Connor Group.

Amberlynn1204 - I would be you are an employee. Your review is so vague to actually take seriously. The funny thing is that you say the maintenance is great yet when I was there the ONLY maintenance guy was on vacation and a current resident there was told that they would have to wait a week before the issue could be fixed. That, to me, sounds like pretty bad management to have only one maintenance person on staff. Also you say the property is quiet well that seems to be because the property is pretty empty.
Also nothing you say can counter the fact that numerous other people have had the same issue I had with this property. You also can't counter the fact that the Connor Group has over 200 complaints filed against itself with the Better Business Bureau. It speaks volumes of a company when it has that many complaints filed against itself in such a short period of time.
I'll stick by my original statement and tell everyone I know that they need to avoid this property, and any other property owned by the Connor Group at all costs.
Have a great day!
