I have lived at Somerset for 2 1/2 years now. Since ------------- has taken over as -------, I as well as several other residence have had many issues from maintenance issues that are unresolved to being over billed for water. The city of Plano has shut the pool down twice since she has been here including today. ----- has stated to me and several other residence that she doesn't care if she is liked or not by us. Several residence are moving because of -----. She is liked by very few residence. I will be moving in 90 days and can not wait until i do not have to deal with her unproffesional management. I would not recomend Somerset to anyone looking for an apartment until ----- is no longer the -------.

Manager's Response

From: Manager Date: 08/10/2009
I am very committed to providing my residents with a sense of community and a positive living experience. I am available to discuss any concerns as well as any suggestions you may have to improve your opinion of my job performance. I do know of several occasions when we discussed your water bills and even made an adjustment to your account. Your water bill is calculated by multiplying the actual water usage as read by each unit's water meter by the rate per gallon as charged by the City. We have had some issues with a few meters not working correctly, but have made adjustments to bills accordingly. As a result of these issues, the City of Plano installed new digital meters for each unit last Monday, August 3, 2009. The City states that this will eliminate human error and provide more accurate readings. In an effort to provide you with sanitized water to swim in as well as protect the pool and equipment against corrosion, we have to close the pool periodically to adjust the chemicals. We were proactive in closing the pool for one day last week prior to the City of Plano inspector's visit. We were not cited or fined for the pool being closed as this is the proper procedure. Given our extreme heat this summer as well as the heavy volume of usage the chemicals are often unbalanced on Mondays. The pool will be open this afternoon. I apologize for any inconveniences and for your future reference we do have pool passes available to our residents for use of a Plano area pool for free if the pool is closed unexpectedly in the future.
