Moved out and still getting screwed

My husband and I lived there for almost a year after we relocated from out of state and while our home was being built. Not a day went by that we were pleased with our temporary living situation. We had questionable neighbors, were accused of having pets when we had none, and the management staff is the most incompetant group of people I've ever had the displeasure of speaking with. They are more concerned about hiring for diversity than hiring for skill. The person they wanted to call their billing representative couldn't add if she had a calculator. Our statments were incorrect each and every month, no one would ever return our calls and we were charged excessive late fees yet our rent was paid early every month. How is this possible' They are all idiots, that's how. We paid every dime and gave our notice with more than enough time required. Six weeks after our move out, we received an invoice itemizing our move out charges; Late fees, a water bill, and an amount billed for days in the apartment after our move out date. Since no one would return my calls, I had to go the office and attempt to resolve it. Conveniently, no one there could help me. The one person that could was out of the office and has yet to return my call! Imagine that.
