My wife and I moved in in July 2005. We have been nothing but nice and friendly to the staff. We always pay our rent on time (never could figure out why they are so ---- about it, if the rent isn't there on the first they charge a late fee). We had one month where we never got our water bill, so we just paid our rent like usual. We got a nasty letter from them saying we owed for the water bill. When I turned in that check I told him point blank, I can't pay the water bill if I don't know what it is. They said that was my problem.
My wife and I are in the process of having a house built. We timed it to coincide with our lease being up this July. We found it it will be done before the end of June. I went and talked with management about working with us on the last month of our lease. Mind you there are no other apartments in the size we have available and I'm sure someone has it on the waiting list. I was told this by the management (and again by the District Manager) "If I helped you with the last month of your lease I'd have to do it for everyone." Basically treating me like a child.
Oh, and this place is going government subsidized housing. We had to fill out government paperwork last September regarding more info than I wanted to dislose (like how much assets we had and how much our taxes were and such).
We had one incident of someone parking in our covered spot. We were told there's nothing they can do (BS).
DO NOT MOVE HERE. Management sucks.

First off, it's only right that they are "----" about the rent. If it is due on the first and you don't pay, it's only right that you have a late fee. This is the way the rest of the world generally works, too. I have been late on my water bill due to not receiving it from them as well, but I didn't get a nasty letter about it. They simply left me something with the unpaid balance and when it was due. And a lease is a lease for a reason. If you signed the agreement until the end of the month you have to uphold your end of the bargain. Sounds to me like you just like to whine.
