So Yes, I wrote the previous review called "Horrible" and I have even more disturbing news to report!!! We complained about our locks needing to be changed and it was never done. ( we had the requests in writting ). Just recently, our apartment was robbed, we lost everything. And to make it worse was our neighbor was the one who did it! a kid! not even 18! When cops showed up we were informed that there were several criminals who lived around us. not only that. the apartment is part of section eight housing. they DO NOT do background checks! they also informed us that nearly half of the residents had been arrested for something (assalt, possession, you name it ) We were just college students working our way through school! we were not a threat to anyone! if you wish to live around criminals like these who are still getting away with things like this, go ahead and lease here! otherwise! i would stay clear of these apartments!
By the way, we've moved out!

Wow...Section 8 Housing is for low-income people and would be fine if they did criminal background checks...the fact that they don't do them means of course these apartments will attract criminals who have not been properly counseled for re-integration into society. Many apartments like Section 8 because it is a reliable stream of revenue for them. I wonder how many apartments are set aside here for Section 8, and basically residents would have no way of knowing which are and which are not since no apartment community can segregate section 8 residens into a particular part of the community - it has to be interspersed which is why you say you had several criminals around you. Also there is a legal mandate that must be upheld under the Texas Property Code Section 92.056 that says an apartment must get the requested work done within a "reasonable time" which the Code goes on to define as 7 days. If you indeed lost everything I would most certainly pursue this with an attorney for recompense. Good luck - |
