Knew about the buyout in 2003....

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
I moved into these apartments (after looking at tons of other apartments for about two months) in July of 2003. For the amount of money I could afford, it was a GREAT deal. I signed my lease with this nice lady who knew all about the property and knew about AMLI and what was going on. When I first moved in, nothing was wrong with the apartment, no stains on the carpet, everything was just great. Then the lady I signed my lease with left the property because of a "promotion" Well, I was helping my friend find an apartment and we were looking at AMLI property on the other side of town (Frankfort or something) and low and behold there was my leasing agent, just working away. I said: nice "promotion" so you get paid more to do the same damn job (as a joke) and she's like: promotion' No they're looking to sell the property and are trying to get all the people they value as employees out of that office before they do so. From her mouth to my ears around January of 2004. She probably just told me because she went to the same school as my sister in law and we talked often before she left and also told me to be discreet. There was a police officer in my building who had his truck BROKEN INTO and his gun and his badge (dont ask me why they were in his car) got stolen out of his glove compartment and the management didnt really care. My dishwasher broke and it took them a week to fix it (lucky for me I know how to wash dishes) I didnt care too much because I wasnt paying that much in rent (after talking with my neighbors I realized I was paying far less but didnt say anything) My water bill was pretty high after some people moved into the apartment downstairs (there were about 6 people living in a one bedroom and showering constantly) Also, the toilets are weird and they constantly "leak" which is something my husband realized when he came to visit me from tech school. There is a constant trickle of water being lost unless you go into the tank and mess with the little floating ball every once in a while. I told my neighbors (I always ran into them and had a good relationship with all of them, even the six people living below me) And we all called the office and complained and had it fixed and the next month our bill was cut by a third. I did have to rent a washer and dryer because the weirdest people were always doing their laundry when I was in the laundry room and that just scared me (guys with black front teeth, people who had knives hanging out of their pockets and hermit-like people.) Everytime it rained, the walkway (the only way to get to my front door) was COMPLETELY flooded. I always had to take off my shoes and just walk barefoot since I didnt want to spend the money on galloshes. In the end, I would just go to someone else's house if it was raining because I really didnt want to have to think about it. Also, the dumpsters got overfilled two or three days before the garbage truck came. So I used the curbside pickup to get rid of my trash. Some neighbors would put their trash out too late for the pickup and we'd have smelly crap all over the grass, but as soon as they found out who it was they would just fine the hell out of them and pick it up later. I did end up moving out once my lease was up. I didnt leave a notice or anything, I just packed up and left. I cleaned everything but didnt vacuum and I left some of my stuff behind like my couch and all the food in the pantry and fridge but I havent been billed for anything and a year later nothing is on my credit report. I did call and leave my forwarding information and they did keep my mail (I bought some stuff off Ebay that was signed for by the leasing agents but those people are no longer employed by them so they dont know where my stuff is) Not worth more then 20 bucks and I really dont care anymore.
