Not the worst apartments, but I wouldn't recommend if you're not ghetto.

We moved here last year and thank goodness we get to leave in 12 days.
Where to start....
Well first of all, the people. They're completely ghetto. I don't know why I can't get away with half the stuff they can. There is a lady across the street with like 10 kids, and I know that the apartments only go up to 3 bedrooms. We were thinking about getting a one bedroom apartment because our son is still under 2 but they said once he turned 18 months, he has to have his own room. You can only have 2 people above 18 months per room, period. And I've been wanting a dog for a long time, but the pet deposit is outrageous. Well I saw these little girls with 2 new chihuahua's and was asking about them, they said they found them and their mom said they could keep them because they couldn't afford to buy a dog. Now do you really think that if their mom can't afford a dog, that she could afford a pet deposit for 2 DOGS! no. of course not.
Not to mention the kids play in the middle of the street. This one little boy in particular sits in the middle of the street, while cars try and drive around him. All the while his mother is standing there. GHETTO. Well, more ridiculous than ghetto. Seriously who taught these people how to live.
I went to the office to give them our 30 day notice and they were nothing but rude. The lady acted as if we were trash and why on earth would we be able to move out of an apartment'' I told her simply that we were tired of living in an apartment and we only did it to save a little money for a year, and her response was "OH, so you have a house then huh'" It took everything inside me to keep from slapping her.
And our Apartment just flooded last week, the water heater broke or something. They were quick about replacing the water heater. But they left our apartment a wreck! They took the carpet padding out that had been ruined, but left the carpet off the tack strips and put a huge fan on part of the carpet that had been ruined, but we had to move it to our closet which had been soaked and started to smell after 1 day because they only left one fan! Our carpet is still not padded and my almost 2 year old has already stepped on the tack strip once. Nothing major, just a little poke but still! HOW RIDICULOUS.
And not to mention the bugs. My son has woken up several times with huge warps. Most likely spider bites. I've woken up with several as well. We've had them come spray more than once. And it didn't really help. We had to put my sons bed in the middle of the room and take everything out except for one pillow and one blanket so there would not be anywhere for bugs to hide.
AND our "1 year lease" was not a full one year. 11 months actually. Which of course was a fine print in the lease agreement. We had a notice that said our lease was ending soon and we needed to decide whether we would stay and renew our lease or leave. Well we just thought they were being nice and sending us a fair warning 60 days before our lease was up. But no, it was 28 days til our lease was up when they sent that and when I went to ask the office about it, that's when the lady was very rude and talked to me as if I were dirt.
Also the heating is a joke! Not that it doesn't work, but that it would actually cost less money to turn your oven on and put a fan in front if it that let the heater go. My husband and I are not rich. We always turn the heat down when we're at work then back up when we're home. I mean as far as heat goes, its probably a total of like 8-9 hours on when it gets cold. Our electricity bill the first month we were there was close to $300. FOR A 2/2!! We lived in a house before that 1400 sq ft and a 3/2 and our electricity never went over $200! Not even running the air all day in the hottest texas summer days.
I recommended these apartments to a single coworker of mine and he was excited because they were so cheap. Well needless to say its been nothing but trouble for him too. His air conditioner was out for a long time and they never came to fix it, the only thing they said was that they were excavating all the air conditioning systems in 2008! Well that doesn't help when its near 100 degrees outside.
Ok, I think I'll stop now, I have tons more to say but I should really be working ha.
OH, one more thing. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS APARTMENT. NOT EVER AGAIN. Unless they completely replace the whole staff and management.
