Typical weekend of noise and beer cans

It is now about 1:00 PM (yes, 1:00) on Sunday(June 29th)around the main pool and you can see the nice landscape cluttered with beer cans, empty McDonald bags of food, etc. You get the picture. Oh yes, add the giant 70 foot semi truck parked close to the pool. They need to get this cleaned up to be ready for the next wave of parties to start around the pool later on this afternoon and far into the night. There will be around 30 young adults(most of whom don't live here). Also when you drive around the complex, all of the trash bags and beer cartons that people aren't supposed to leave out on Saturday and Sunday. It used to not be this way. Management knows all about these problems and seems not to care. So, a typical weekend of noise starts at about 6:00 PM on Friday evening, usually the volleyball game is the biggest contributor. Side note: The pool activity is supposed to stop at 10:00 PM. If the noise(yelling and stereos blasting) is not from the pool area, it has moved to the individual balconies. This is now going on almost every Friday, Saturday, and sometimes even Sunday night. We are talking as late as three or four in the morning sometimes. Someone told me yesterday afternoon they went to the movie because the noise was so loud they couldn't even watch TV. Residents basically can't even sit on their own patios on the weekends. So if you are into parties at all hours of the day and night come to the Water's Edge.

Sums it up pretty well...I just freakin' leave early in the morning and come back late at night. I have friends who live in Southeast Dallas with more quiet complexes than this. You are completely correct when you state that it's not necessarily the pool, but parties moving to the balconies. Couple those parties with the fact that the sound of the patio doors closing reverberates through the entire building, and you get constant noise 24/7. Worse is the people with stereos in their bedrooms; thanks for waking me up daily at 7am. I pity the person who gets my apartment after I leave when my lease is up. I wouldn't bother with the office staff. They are courteous (though one of them is rather disorganized and could use some Post Its due to genuine forgetfulness) but I don't think there's much they can do except for evict half the complex.

Whatever, Chris. Go let the management know some more, and let their inaction show how much they care.

Honestly, I think that the old farts need to move on. This is an apartment complex... I'm sorry but when I'm over 30 I'll have my own house and won't be spending my days complaining about noise and being pissed off cause I wasted my youth. I've lived here for two years, and someone is always complaining (normally the seniors)... Here is a thought for you....Go get a mortgage....

Here is a suggestion...maybe you should live in another building. Somewhere away from the pool. I don't live in a building near the pool, and I hear absolutely nothing. I think waters edge is great! If you can't handle the noise of people gathering at the pool....choose another building. You get what you ask for!

I am one of those "Kids" that goes to the pools in the summer on Saturday. Oh heaven forbid you play volleyball at a pool in your apt's in the summer. Yes there is music but it all stop at sundown. Absolutely crazy. I totally agree with THAICHICK. It's always the seniors complaining. Get a Mortgage! Everyone else in the apartments are respectful of their neighbors and you need to be to. I think whats making them mad is young successfully people making the same if not more money than them.

Wait till I come there. All you complaining pricks are in for a hard time. LOL!

I agree with Anonymous. I don't live near the pool and I have yet to have any noise issues. My biggest noise issue actually is the airconditioning units outside my bedroom window. Which brings me to a new point: If the weather outside is cooler than the temp inside, YOU DON'T NEED TO USE YOUR A/C. All you need to do is OPEN A WINDOW!!!!! It's a waste of energy and money when you leave your a/c on all day. Later on in the summer I'll understand when the a/c's are running. But in the beautiful spring weather...
