I should have known better... Looked at this place a year ago and the management personnel seemed really rude and rushed me out. Well, everyone can have a bad day---so 1 year later I came back on a Sunday afternoon. The manager on duty (Chantel, I believe was her name-- cute, long brown hair) seemed as if I was was disturbing her (she was still chewing her food when she came out to greet me after I stood waiting for several minutes). She rushed me thru the floor plans and told me she couldn't show me anything because they don't show apts. on the weekend (What'''') Gave me a copy off the floor plan and was told to call back for an appt. during the week. While I was getting ready to leave another woman came in and said she was looking for an apt. for her daughter, I left and while sitting in my car looking at some paperwork... guess who came out to show the other woman an apartment and drove off in a golf cart. Of course she saw me and if knew she messed up... I left, called the next day and asked to speak to a supervisor... Finally, after 2-3 days a very nice woman called to get my story and just said she couldn't understand why the Leasing Associate would say that, apologized and said she would call me back as soon as she talked to her... well--- its a month later and no has called. They should be lucky I don't turn them into Fair Housing... I'm a professional business woman and work in a retail business... I would never dream of treating someone the way they treated me. I've read other negative reviews on this property regarding management and maintenance. Thank goodness I found a new home in a wonderful and caring management --- Colonnade at Willowbend in Plano is my home and I love this place... come on over and be my new neighbor!

Hey daltexgal, I have lived here for years and have known this current office staff for quite sometime. I can assure you that they all treat their future residents professional and prompt as well as the tennants alike. Furthermore, sundays are extremely hectic in the office and the cute girl you referenced (Chantal) works alone and busts her butt-FOR ALL EQUALLY. Maybe she was trying to eat lunch while you visited and tried to accomidate you? Sounds like you have some issues within yourself and your own ethnic background. I am truly sorry for the perception you felt twice while visiting us at the Waters edge. I have happily worked in the multi-family business for over 6 years and have never been accused of treating someone in the horrible manner you stated in this review. I am genuinely excited that you found a new home that you liked. If you ever need of an apartment home in the future, we would love to have you come back out and tour at the Waters edge. I live here at Water's Edge. I've certainly critizied a few things around here, but one thing for sure....Chantel is no racist. This lady has no idea what she is talking about. Probably way too sensitive. Many minorities live at Water's edge. First time I have ever heard this and I have been here 8 years. Jim

Seems to be a pattern of people that do not know the managers, have the same opinion. However, the ones that do know them, ensure they comment on issues that they did not witness. But I guess that what this site is for. Hat's off to the daltexgirl & Chantel for tasteful follow-ups. "Colonnade at Willowbend" Hmmmm....

I think the lady who is 55 is on point. I have noticed alot of things like this as well in some of the staff in this office when I lived here. You can see the treatment on how they treat opposite racist all of the time. They NEED to stop it! I still have friends who live here and we talk about it. The maintenance staff even steals things at night stay up and watch them. In this world everyone should be treated fairly and equally and just because someone has been living somewhere 8 years they might not know how someone else could or have been treated. Do a tally and send out a form on how the residents feel and let them submit it anonymous and tell me what you will come up with. For example they aloud someone to vandalize the stop signs by putting up mccai/palin signs and that is illegal to put that up and the apartments could have been fined. I feel I have been treated okay but, sometimes other people have feeling and everyone should respect their feelings on how they feel. That's all for me. Be Blessed in all that you do or say. Obama 2008 because he is for all people not just one race of people. TO God be the glory!!!!

I just met Chantal and she sounded pretty sweet and was a great person to talk to. I myself am brown but there was absolutely no sign of any sort of discrimination as such. Waters Edge looks like a fantastic society to live in. Looking forward to move in real soon. Again, the charges above, in my opinion, are baseless. Chantal is a sweetheart.

To all above, I appreciate your responses and support of the management staff. However, I am not black, I am not hostile. I speak perfectly good English and I have no issues with my ethnic background or anyone else's for that matter. I am a 55 year old professional business woman who only asks for fair and equitable consideration and is it too much to ask for good customer service. If someone says they will call you back I expect them to keep their word-- that's all. Two times I came to this complex because I really felt the community was beautiful and housed professional upscale residents. I still believe that to be the case, but the management team leads me to believe they lack tact and professionalism. The problem here is simple: The Leasing Associate was not truthful in her response about showing apts on the weekend and immediately showed an apartment 5 minutes after I left to someone else-- any one of you would have felt the same way I did. I'm thrilled each of you found the opposite to be true. (Not sure why you assumed I was black or a minority--- well maybe being 55 is considered a minority to some)--- Regardless--Best wishes to each of you-- move on please, I did!
