Not so bad

We've lived here since September 2005, moved in after Hurricane Katrina. We only had one option of an apartment to move into, got a 2 bedroom/1 bathroom floorplan. Ours is actually considered a one bedroom with a den. The walls seem paper thin, while sitting in our living room we can hear the next door neighbor's tv very clearly, all the time. Our upstairs neighbor stomps around, and listens to thumping loud music. I've called the office about our neighbors a few times, and was told that all they could do was ask them to turn it down, and couldn't guarantee that they would comply. I was also told to call the Richardson police if they were loud, so that a report would be filed. I shouldn't have to call the police if I want something done. My upstairs neighbor stomped around so hard one morning, he knocked my clock and some other things off the wall. When I called the office about that, the assistant manager apparently called him and asked him to keep it down, which he did, for about 2 days, then he was right back to stomping around.

I've woken up to loud music coming from both upstairs and next door, at all hours of the night, usually starts around 9pm and goes till about 2-4 am sometimes. When I've called regarding that, I am still told to call the police when it happens. Seems like if its not happening to the ladies in the office, then it really doesn't matter.

But besides the noisy neighbor issue, they aren't that bad of a community. I must say though, the rent we pay here is pretty extreme for as small as our apartment is. After our waterbill is added every month, our rent averages $1080/month. We are gonna find a new place as soon as our lease is up here, because I'm sure rent will go up another $40-$60. When we moved here in 2005, rent was $960, so you do the math. Pretty high.
