This was my first apartment, moving in in June '03. The mgmt staff was wonderful. I signed a 6 month lease and the next lease they LOWERED my rent. The maint. man was an elder gentleman and he took pride in his porter staff and work. There was no trash/litter in sight. There were a lot of older folks that lived there. The two ladies that lived on either side of me had lived there for 5-10 years. Once the new mgmt company arrived, everything changed! They did go up on the rent, but not much. The office staff was nice and friendly in your face, but then I come home to a notice on my door that neighbors had noticed that I have an unauthorized person living in my apt. I had been living there for 2 yrs at that time and my neighbors knew my friends and boyfriend that had a key, but did not live with me. I was so insulted, that someone would be peering at me, when I worked two jobs at the time and was barely home. I had to explain to Dixie that I absolutely lived by myself. The notices that did come out were written by a preschooler. The grammar was appalling, just like the previous review stated. The maintenance men were backwoods rednecks that smoked cigarettes and drank longneck Bud beer in plain sight of residents, near the leasing office when I suppose they were getting off work. The dumpster that is an automatic type that all you have to do is push a button to compact the trash was never touched at all. There is a dumpster in plain view of a well traveled entrance and every time I came in that way, the dumpster was overflowing onto the ground at least 2 times a week, especially on Monday's. During the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday in 2005, I had to stand about 7 feet away to just throw the trash somewhere where it would land in a pile on the ground around the dumpster and I know one of the maint guys lived on the premises!! At one time, by father was visiting me and we were leaving separately in our vehicles, when the two maint guys were walking around my father's truck and stopped him to say that he had backed into a car on the opposite side of the parking lot. They said they were going to call the police and Dixie came out with a worried look on her face to try and calm things down. My father did not hit or bump another vehicle, I was watching him back out the entire time. Nothing ever came of it, but after that I felt that I was leary of the maint men, because they could access my apt. My sink pull/stopper in the bathroom was broken and I asked them several times to fix it. They came out 3-4 times and never fixed it properly. One of those times, they left my front door unlocked!! Can you believe it!!''' My door UNLOCKED!!! I told Dixie and she just apologized and never offered any other service or a discount on rent, etc. I continually spoke with my neighbors and they were disgusted about the whole mgmt team. My neighbor told me they were supposed to change the deadbolt, because hers had broken and after a week went by, she told them, she would do it herself. She also told me that she saw used condoms near the laundry facilities and syringes near the dumpster. The pool was dirty, maybe not so much of the water that I can remember, but the sides or walls were BLACK from dirt and body oil. I used to love this apartment complex, it was very beautiful with the lovely crepe myrtles and the black lattice work railings on the 2nd floor balconies and extremely quiet. Too bad it went to hell over poor, poor property mgmt and maint.
