Decent apartment, recommended with reservation

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
I lived in this community for a year. The apartments were built in 2000, as I was told. They look pretty new, so well maintained. I did not pay too much attention to the ground or dog poops on lawn. It looks clean enough for me.
The residents are nice and friendly. One thing I noticed is that there are a lot of dogs. I don't particularly like animals. So I am not impressed by that. The apartment itself is nice, and new. I liked it. I pay about $150 in winter and summer for electricity, for a 1 bedroom. (Not too bad, but I wish it could be lower.) I had a few occasions that I can hear the noice from my neighbor above, but most of the time it is quiet enough.
Overall I have no complaint to the management (except a recent change I will talk about later). Donna is very friendly and helpful. Cheryl is not bad either. Maintanence is reponsive enough. Most of the service requests are fulfilled in the same day or the next day. Occasionally, as you can imagine it can always happen due to various reasons, they may take longer. Check with the office if you don't see the problem fixed in time. Once I had a proble with the microwave oven. It took about one week because they didn't have the parts. So it can happen. But I don't think it is a big deal, given it only happened once.
One thing to complain is that they recently changed the parking policy. In the past, all parking spaces are shared. Some resident complained that they have to park too far from their buildings. Now parking spots are reserved and assigned. I have a one car garage and two cars. So we have to park one car in the garage and another one in front of the garage, because we are not allowed to park in the parking spots anymore. Every morning my wife and I have to switch cars. It's a pain. Not a big deal though. But the solution the management came up with to "solve the parking problem" is just making things worse. I wish the management understands the benefit of resource pooling.
I also read one comment about the dumpster. I kind of agree. There is only one (or two') dumpster in the whole community, which is pretty big.) My building is far away from it. The good thing is that I didnot suffer from the smell (it could be a problem for those living close to it). The bad thing is that it is inconvenient to dump the garbage. (Well, maybe not a totally bad thing because you can think of it as an exercise. Positive thinking.)
I tried to give as much information as I could. Overall, it is a good place to live. But a few small things could be done better.
