Awful Apartments

Where do I even begin' I'll start with my Freshman year. Move in day was awsome, I was so excited to get to live in an apartment with three roomates. I got there and the place was big and beautiful, with parties by the pool everynight. They were new and nice. But then freshman year ended. And with it my stay in Phase 8, which is where Freshman are required to live. I was then moved to phase 3. I was lucky enough to get an apartment with black mold, leaky pipes, old mildewed carpet, and cracked walls. In my bedroom the airconditioner panel was above my sink with a pipe hanging out to drip into the sink. I went away for a week for christmas break and the night I got home, I found that my entire bathroom and bedroom was flooded. Turns out, the airconditioner was from the 70's and had been broken at least 3 or 4 times. I got home at 2 am and called the emergency maintenence staff. 2 hours later, someone showed up with two buckets. He didn't speak any english. He took the panel down and water poured out everywhere making the situation worse. The insulation was soaked through completely and falling apart. All he did to "fix" the problem however was to let all the water drain into his buckets, close the panel back up, cut my carpet up off the floor, take the padding out, and then put the carpet back down. After a few more calls and complaints, they sent out "carpet cleaners" who only made matters worse, when they "cleaned" the carpet with nasty equipment leaving the floor in the ENTIRE apartment wet. They turned on a fan and opened the window to let it dry. From then on, the apartment smelled soo bad. Any time i called they were rude and condescending. They are only fellow college students that don't care. On top of all of these problems, I left my trash out for 1 day when all of this was happening. It was a lot of trash and it was late at night so I left it for the next day. Most of it was the molded left over insulation and carpet padding that the "repair man" left behind. Waterview then charged me $25 dollars a bag, and told me they want to keep the property looking nice. I thought this was funny because the pool had been green for months, and there was a COUCH in the bottom of it. Yes, that is right...a COUCH...and it had been there longer than the pool had been green. They wouldnt' let me out of the lease either, or let me transfer to a new apartment. We also had problems with large wolf spiders and ants. We weren't dirty either. After I finally moved out, an article was written about the multiple rapes that had occured, yet the rapists were allowed to continue living in Waterview when they made bail. I could keep going but I am guessing you get the basic concept, that waterview is a hell hole. Oh but one last thing, I pay less money in monthly rent for my brand new 1 bedroom apartment (LUXURY apartment) down the street than students pay for a 1 bedroom on campus. I have twice the square footage, and it is managed by profesionals.

Anyways, just don't live here. It is a terrible idea, and htere is nicer and cheaper places just as close. I live not even 5 minutes away from the school now.
