I lived here during my graduate years at UT Dallas. The apartment location was great, being within a hop, skip and jump from school. That was the only good thing about the apartment. Started having trouble with management from day one. They were incredibly rude and patronizing. When you asked for clarifications regarding the contract they were ALWAYS unknowledgeable and incommunicative, always trying to confuse you. This was mostly on purpose, in my opinion, becoz when it came to charging/fining/reprimanding us for lease problems, they had ready facts to throw at us. They were oblivious to our needs since they have monopoly there (most foreign students don't have cars and hence can't/don't live in complexes further away).

The managers usually let the part-time staff (many times local students/day-scholars from UTD) deal with us students and they were the worst. These kids were basically immature spoilt brats with silly attitudes made worse with the power they wielded over us poor folk looking out for apartments to move into (in 2000, there was a huge waitlist since some phases were not completed). These were among the worst human beings you would ever meet (especially this unbearably snobbish, lying girl who was a sophomore at UTD).

Sorry to rant on about the management. But this will give you an idea about how bad they were/are.

As regards the apartment quality, it is below par. Cheap, just about sums it up. About roaches, trash...etc, what more could you expect from a huge bunch of undergrads and grads living in a small area in complete freedom (Dorms have more rules). The undergrads are too busy partying and puking about the place and the grads are too busy studying to think about cleaning up. Not much concerns about safety since you can see students roaming about the place till late. Parking is a pain and having to pay for parking is another example of the management's high-handedness. (Sorry to come back to management problems).
