not the worst, but could use some work

I have also seen some "shady" residents around the complex, but my immediate neighbors have mostly been considerate, clean, and kept to themselves. Since I haven't had any long-term problems with neighbors, etc, I can't offer much insight as to how the office addresses problems.
The grounds are well maintained and pets are welcome. Most people are responsible with their pets.
Office staff is generally polite, but they don't always seem to be very well-trained. Different staff members have given me conflicting versions of what is "office policy", I have never been offered a receipt for my rent check, etc.
There is a train that is close by, but I've gotten used to the noise. It can be very loud, so if you're sensitive to noise, this might not be the place for you.
It is very difficult to keep the apartment cool during the summer. Maintenance has been prompt to come out and look at the air conditioner, but haven't offered a solution beyond, "It's working." I don't think it's working very well, since our apartment temperature at 11:00 p.m. has averaged 82-85 degrees for the last several weeks (that with running the a/c 24 hours a day,not turning on the oven, keeping shades and blinds drawn during the day, running fans and hanging drapes). Our electric bill runs close to $200/month, so that extra cost may be a factor in considering this complex.
