I AM SO GLAD I'M OUTTA THERE!

I moved into BR Sept 2006 to be closer to my job. I wanted in NWISD for my daughter who was in elementary school. I had problems from the first day I moved in. The apartment wasn't clean, my microwave didn't work and my front window would not LOCK!' I should have ran then but I thought, everyone has a bad day. It went down hill from there. Here are just a few of the problems I had living there...
1. Spiders...everywhere. I was constantly knocking down webs. DAILY!
2. Dirt/Dust - this was due to the building shifting and my windows and doors not closing properly.
3. No second lock on the sliding glass door (which is required by TX law!)
4. RATS! I kid you not. The minute they started tearing up the section across from me to begin building the new apartments in Phase 2 and the ones across Holley I was infested.
5. The teenage partier upstairs who's friend pee'd off the balacony..IN FRONT OF MY 10 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER! I called the cops and it was the only reason they finally evicted the family!
6. People constantly parking in my reserved spot. It's part of my rent therefore I pay for it. If I want to use it I will, if I don't I won't. I usually kept it empty so my mother could have a close place to park when she came for a visit since she can't walk very far w/o pain.
7. Trash...trash...trash...and I'm not talking about the dumpsters. The people that were renting and moving in. The quality of renter went down tremendously.
It took me a while to get out as I was trying to buy a house. I was FINALLY able to purchase a house in NWISD here in Roanoke (because I love the area) and moved July 2008. I am so glad I no longer have to share walls, parking and if my water bill is $50 it's my own damn fault and not the managment double dipping. Yes..double dipping. I have a sinking suspicion that our water bills paid for the water that ran the laundry rooms. If they did then that it is double dipping and it's illegal. YOu can't make someone pay twice for the same thing. Those machines are not free. You pay to use them! I suspect if someone filed a class action suit there would be several of us that would a nice chunk of change back. Also, I was tired of policing the pool and cabana area in Phase II. There was a pack of teenage boys from the subdivision behind BR that would come over and wreck havoc on the pool area. I called on them and was informed by the office staff that I needed to call when they are there so they can catch them in the act. What do you think I was doing' Have a coke and a smile before I called. If the office staff would answer the damn phone when it rings instead of ignoring it (which I have personally witnessed on more than one occasion) then maybe you could catch them in the act. I am soooooo glad I am out of there and I will never go back! I also tell everyone I know to go rent at Northlake if you want to live in NWISD for the schools. Avoid BR, Copper whatever and the other apt complex this management company owns that is on 377 and 170. That complex was on the news earlier this year with a major ant infestation. Gross! AVOID AVOID AVOID!
OH! I almost forgot! While they were building the new addition and the complex across the street my gated community was no longer gated! My gas was stolen on several occasions. Once I got a locking gas cap whoever was stealing my gas got pissed and vandalized my vehicle. They loosened the lug nuts on two of my tires almost causing me to wreck! It's ridiculous! They could have killed me, my daughter and anyone else on the road if my tire had fell off! Dumbasses! When I told the complex office, they said "what do you want us to do about it' Call the police." OMG! Pass out a flyer to let everyone know what is going on in the complex or better yet lock the freaking gates already!

Obviously this lady is bitter. If you didnt know, the city of roanoke charges you an flat rate of $30.00 a month just to get water to your apartment and the amount after that is your usage! Everyone knows that! I actually went across the street to check the new place out and they are by far completely different then them. yha the they have rats but thats why you write a work order. i like my apartment have never had to deal with the office cuz i dont like to -----.

You just need to get over it! You cannot control what people do for one! I looked at all your complaints and realized that most of them were just part of nature. Spiders exist, get over it. Dirt and dust! Are you kidding! lol. Wow. Not real sure what to say to that. No second lock on the patio door. I know for sure that you have a flip lock and then a pin at the bottom of the door to act as a dead bolt. Maintenance would have put one on there for you if you asked. How in the world does someone get mad at mother nature. Rats! are you serious! How does that reflect bad on the company. You are impossible to please is the first problem. You want me to go and tell the rats to leave you alone. How is the property suppost to be looked down on for that? That's awful that you blame the office for rats! Kids will be kids. I agree its not right for your daughter to see that, but again, the office can't control what everyone does. To be fair they have to take into consideration alot of things. For one sometimes they can fine them or have a meeting with the residents and try to resolve the problem. Not everyone is marching to the beat of your drum. Oh my gosh! people always parking in your spot! again, let me tell you how the city of roanoke is. First of all you cant tow people easily. You have to give that car 24 hours and then sticker it before you can even tow it. But SERIOUSLY the office can't be there 24 hours to monitor everything that goes on. You get a complex of people in one area, you cant control what they do. Trash! Oh i am so done with your petty complaints, I have no more energy to put into this.

It is our duty to take care of the apartments as we have pest control every wednesday for us to help control the pests that do happen every now and then. It's nature. And management is NOT there 24 hours, but our maintenance team of the management company is there. All you have to do is call the office and they will return your phone call promptly. And yes, they do respond to after hour emergency maintenance calls. I, infact, had a problem with my a/c and they came out to my apartment at about 9pm to fix it. Being charge for a screen door is just the standard policy. The pest traps are set up in numerous locations across the community. You wouldn't technically be able to see them in plain view. My guess is, you haven't brought up these problems to the management until you had to move out. Also sounds like you thought the gates were to stop crime from happening in the community. WRONG. I do know that when you move in, they go over safety guidelines so maybe someone had it in for you to steal your gas. ----> If the office staff would answer the damn phone when it rings instead of ignoring it (which I have personally witnessed on more than one occasion. */*/* And I have seen just how busy they get in the office so don't think they are just not working up there. they put up with annoying folks like you as well as please the other people that live here...and they lease apartments! And maybe they are happy that you are gone so that now they don't have someone coming in crying about their gas being stolen out of their tanks....what do you expect them to do, buy you gas? ha! We understand that this is a website to ----- but you are way out of control. No one ever says anything nice on these websites so everything you are saying just sounds like you were just a miserable person to begin with. Best of luck to ya in your home.......don't piss and moan when you have to do all the maint yourself and mow your lawn in 100 degrees. I'll be thinking about you sitting by the pool this summer.

Anonymous! Please honey! Don't feel sorry for me. I have people that mow my lawn and do my maint in addition to my pool is in my back yard and I don't have to share with crazy old people, drunk 20 somethings or wild teens who don't even live there. As for not letting the management know of the issues, if you could read, you would see that I did contact the office on numerous occasions! If the management is better now, then more power to those who live there. I am just letting the world know what my issues were. I'm gone, I'm happy. Enjoy living in an apartment and sharing walls and parking and the overloaded dumpster and the kids from neighboring subdivisions destroying the pool..and all the other fun things that come with living at Boulder Ridge. It sounds as if your expectations were low to begin with so you probably are satisfied. Happy Living! :)
