Nice apartments... if you're willing to pay the price.

I lived at Boulder Ridge for a year. Where their property is beautifully landscaped and well maintained, it seems as though they care more about appearances than their tenants.
Often if I had a maintenance issue in my apartment I would have to call at least twice to get it taken care of.
The staff (maintenance and office) were always polite and welcoming. The office staff specifically, although nice, never seemed to know what exactly was going on, be it lack of communication or organization, I always seemed to have to wait at least an hour or a day for results or an answer.
I never had a serious problem with them until I moved out. After having used the infamous "oddly placed" night drop box for an entire year without problems, I placed my last month's rent and 30-day move-out notice in the box the first of the month. I heard nothing from the apartment complex the entire month. I contacted them on the 27th while packing and making my preparations to move, and I asked them if I had anything else I needed to do. I was told they had not received my 30-day notice.
Needless to say, a three-day struggle ensued where I was passed around the office from person to person, left waiting for calls to be returned, until finally I had to meet with both the supervisor and the property manager. Through all of this, they had no sympathy for the possibility that they might have lost my letter in their clerical process. We came to an impasse where I was forced to either pay half of the re-letting fee (that was as much as they could do for me) or take a hit to my credit; and as I am a recent college graduate with no job or credit, I took the offer.
SO, even though there is no verbal or written warning about the risks of using the night drop box, beware of the consequences. Boulder Ridge does not admit mistakes.
On a good note, because they charge such ridiculous processing fees and deposits, the $350 I owed them was taken out of the near $800 I was owed back.
Nice complex, spacious units, sneaky little staff members. Just make sure you stay on top of not only your business, but theirs as well.
