Years at this apartment:
2007
-
2008
I stayed at the lodge from the summer of 2007 to spring 2008.
Here is the good:
The grounds and landscaping are attractive and well kept. Nothing too special.
There is a fitness center in the clubhouse with wieight machines, dumb bells,a nd some cardio equipment. It is open from 5 AM-12AM. It was convenient and never crowded.
The complex is located on Louis Henna/45. You can jump right on the tollway to and get to Mopac or 130 in very short order. The complex is set back from Louis Henna enough so that you do not have excessive road noise.
I found the office staff pleasant. I never really had any problems for them to fix.
I only saw the police called to the complex one time during my stay here.
The bad:
The place is plagued with hard water--I mean really hard water--the kind that will ruin a coffee maker and make you hair fall out if you have a sensitive scalp.
The windows are antiquated and do not offer good enough insulation.
The Noisy:
I found the residents a bit noisy; this may be because may of them are a bit on the young side. Some of my neighbors talked in the hallways occasionally when they came home in the late evening. I don't think that this indicates a defect in the apartment's craftsmanship. Rather this is an indication of the class of people who reside in the complex. Some of them are little less than conscientious.
I am not sure if there was a family of gorillas living beneath me, but the slamming their entry door was a regular occurrence that shook the dwelling.
Another occasional bother was car stereos. This again is a class issue.
Other irritations were neighbors who bagged their trash and left it in the hallway instead of walking 200 yards to the dumpster. If you are reading this and you leave your trash in the hallway, please move to a third world country were they do not have modern sanitation.
Overall:
I feel that The Lodge was a good value. Even a one bedroom apartment was 860 square feet.
