I moved from the beautiful town of Salado due to the increasing gas problems. It broke my heart but when we found the Monterone I was impressed. I was shown nice, clean apartments. Did notice a few problems with some of the amenities but they were not a major problem to me. The light on our building went out everytime it rained and a neighbor parks his 2 trailors in a 4 parking spot section instead of using the big parking lot. That is a problem when my elderly parents come to visit but anyway!! The place wasn't too bad. Then the renewal of the lease came with a $50 increase.. Since my husband was constantly getting sick with the allergy problem and we were being asked for more money we decided to find a place in the same area (1 mile) down the road that we liked much better.. More room, bigger yard and a lot easier to keep my floors clean but best of all my husband can breath again..
So, what is my problem'' I believe in people and everyone being fair. I lived in the apartment for 10 months and knew it would be temporary so we did not hang pictures and had no animals.. When it was time to leave I talked with the "All New Staff" about what & how they needed things done. The cleaning was basic as we had a small place we kept clean anyway but at 7 months pregnant I cleaned ceiling fans, light fixtures, blinds and everything inbetween over & beyond. We were satisfied with our apartment and tried to return it the way we had received it.. We did better!!!
After reading all the complaints made and knowing most are truly legit - I know mine are elementary however, I am really upset to have only received $80 of my deposit back.. I have always received my deposit back and should have this time too.. Instead they came up with a list that makes no sense, not only to me but to them as well. They cannot explain what the charges are or how they are coming up with their number.. Why is a water bill being deducted that I paid for by check'' They have no time to sit and talk to me.. Not only did my neighbors love my apartment at move-out but the walk thru was total praise! So what happened'''
I know I am lucky, atleast I wasn't left with a negative $ amount. But it's the principal. Just because I can afford to lose the deposit doesn't mean I should have to. I paid my way (on time) and even brought them a tenant (for free), held a wine tasting (for free). And took pride in the place we called home. Even though the gate never worked, people were always parting at the pool with no regard to children, a registered sex offender lived across from me, tenants had no respect for others when it came to parking.. I never complained 'cause I knew others were already. I wish I would have seen these messages before I moved in.. Then I wouldn't be here complaining like the rest of you because I would have expected it.. Instead I am releasing my anger using the same outlet you have. So for those who wonder why we waste our time'' Because a $ is a $. If you don't stand for something you'll fall for anything! I failed to do my homework and got screwed on the way out. That doesn't bother me as bad as knowing I set my poor friend up for the same when he was in a desperate situation..
Great way to treat a friend.

Don't let them get away with this. Take them to small claims court. Trust me, you will win. Many people have done so and won. The Monterone has to give you a written explanation of money that they have kept from your deposit. If you need help go to www.monteronne-aka-mansionsonthegreen-victims.com, they are awesome. You shouldn't feel bad for referring a friend, you thought you were referring them to a nice apartment complex.

I thought about it but I am due in 2 weeks with my daughter and am still trying to find receipts. Unually I have it all in order but I can't find my original contract.. We paid a double deposit due to bad credit. So technically, we lost more than I said because in addition to that we spent $100 on a carpet cleaner. We didn't take pictures either. I know my neighbors would go to court with me but if I am not fighting for the other $500 too then......... The whole thing SUCKS and I am really suprised and disappointed at the ending to what could have been a good experience.. Like I said, we had no major complaints until we got the refund check.

Lynn I am sorry to hear you are going through this while you are pregnant. Perhaps after you have your baby and get settled you can find your receipts. Depending on what cause of action you bring your statute of limitation can be up to four years. There ARE a lot of people going after the scum that run these apartment complexes. They will pay. They are the subject of a class action. Karma - they will be getting theirs. If there comes a time you want to go after management go to www.monterone-aka-mansionsonthegreen-victims.com. They will help you. I wish you health and happiness with your new baby. God bless you both!
