Angelo Place: A not such a great place to live

It looks awesome at first- fully furnished, lots of amenities, close to ASU...but I've come to find that there are several good reasons NOT to live there.

First off, unless you have a friend or two to move in with, your stuck with complete strangers. They only have 12 month leases. They call themselves a "student community" but how can they when rent is close to $500 a month' I don't know of students being able to go to school AND work enough to pay that rent. And most students like to go home at the end of the school year. It's almost pointless to go home if you've got to pay for an apartment. If you want to move out you not only have to pay to break lease, you also have to find someone to take over the lease.

The walls are very thin. I constantly hear my next-door neighbors' music and the upstairs neighbors walking around. I asked the office if they'd tell my neighbors to keep their music down and they said that they don't handle anything like that-I'd have to wait until 6 p.m. to call the courtesy officer.

The maintenance crew is rude. They will knock once and walk in without giving you a chance to get to the door. And when they're in the apartment they will be very noisy.
Once they came in to spray the apartment and I had just gotten out of the shower. I asked if I could get dressed really fast before they came in my bedroom and the guy kept trying to come into my room. He finally (and rudely) said that he didn't have to do it and they left. I know that they have a lot of rooms to check but I think it's common courtesy to let someone throw on some clothes before you walk in.

Most of the people that work in the office are also rude. They try to make you feel dumb when they explain discrepancies with bill, maintenance, etc. Don't get me wrong, a few of them are very nice and helpful, but the majority aren't very polite.

The internet is very annoying. It won't let me log into the server half the time and it's not very fast.

90% of the people I know that live at Angelo Place hate it. I it LOOKS like a great deal but they need to work out a lot of things before they start calling themselves "A great place to live".
