My husband and I were stationed in San Angelo temporarily and we had to get an apartment out in town. We had a house at our permanent duty station and therefore we had to still pay a mortgage. We were stripped of our BAH, so we were paying for our apartment out of pocket. The manager was so considering and sensitive to our situation that she rented us an apartment that had just one minor thing wrong with the carpet for the most unbelievable price. My husband and I were still able to pay all of our other bills and still have fun. Don't believe everything you read. I think it jsut depends on the person.
