Come live here if you enjoy living in fear. This is a Hell Hole!

I've lived here for several years because the rent is cheap and the location is convenient. However, I cannot wait to move out of this hell hole! How can you feel safe knowing that TWO of your neighbors have been MURDERED in unrelated incidents in their separate apartments in one week's time' The apartments are in Phase 2, numbers 807 & 1216--I'm sure you don't want to live in either of those units. Even the police investigator advised us residents "to keep looking over your shoulders." Besides that, in the time I've lived here there's been one hostage situation ending in suicide (complete with the SWAT team staking out the place); several assaults (that I know of), one ending with a resident left for dead in a coma inside his apartment; armed robberies and carjackings. I certainly didn't expect to deal with this much crime in a gated community on the north side of town. Even before the recent murders occured, I was planning to move, since the apartment complex is almost 20 years old and you can definitely tell. My apartment has smelled old & musty since I moved in. The maintenance will only do a patch-up job if something breaks. In other words, the service is half-ass. My apartment had a water leak caused by the water heater. The manager refused to replace the water heater though--just had the maintenance jimmy-rig it so maybe it won't leak. You should see it--all old & rusty, so gross! Well, the leak went into my bathroom and rotted out the bottom of the cabinets. Did they fix it properly' NO! So now the countertop is slanting & detaching from the walls. The landscaping is dying & not replaced; I hear rats scratching inside the walls; and the outside of the buildings haven't been painted in years. My other complaints are about the staff. The leasing crew always seems so inconvenienced by residents. God forbid you ask them to sign for a package for you. They don't do that unless it's shipped by the US Post Office. Fed Ex and UPS' Forget it--that is unless you're one of the favored residents. I found out they actually do sign for packages, just not for everyone. And do they ever answer the phone when you call' No, it's on the perpetual answering service, so residents don't interrupt their naps. We also seem to get notices of "mandatory interior inspections" at least every other month. What is all that about' I feel it's a true invasion for them to be coming into my apartment when I'm not at home. Who knows what they're inspecting, because these invasions are never explained nor are things fixed afterwards (if they're actually inspecting the condition of their shoddy maintenance work). This place is also overrun with TONS of noisy, inconsiderate young children. They're always milling around in the parking lot, stairwells and the grounds, all hours day and evening, often screaming--all the while no parent or adult is present. I'm counting the days before my lease ends and I can get out of here! Lease here at your own risk--you've been warned...
