A cozy, family friendly community!

Some apartments here are nicer than others. Some have been fixed up by previous leasers. Managmenent has their good and bad days, just like everyone, but more often than not they are understanding and friendly. It's an older apartment complex, so you have to expect that appliances, fitness room equipment, etc are a bit outdated. We've lived in two different sized apartments there, and one of them we had to call maintainance the first week. The one we live in now has absolutely nothing wrong with it. Great condition, great price (keeping in mind we have a military discount). A/C units are old, so you may run into leaks in the closet. The more often you change the filter (more than you normally would), the less likely you'll have a moldy closet. If you get mold, they tell you to call the office - they'll take care of it. Good neighbors, lots of children, a nice clean and safe playground, and people are always at the pool. Trash gets picked up in a timely manner, and the landscaping never gets out of hand. They do their job. Parking is usually alright, but can get crowded at times. I reccomend reserving a spot. Mail comes pretty late (new carrier is incredibly slow), if that matters. It's a gated community, but the gate rarely works. Still a secure place, in my opinion. But be prepared with your gate card, because you never know when it'll be locked. Lines go out to the street if no one has their card, which is annoying to everyone. It isn't paradise, but it's cozy, wooded, and good for the price you pay. If you're going for a one bedroom, here's the deal. The smaller one is exactly that - small. But, it's a better layout than the larger one bedroom, which we had first. In that floor plan, there isn't a good cross breeze (if you have the windows open, that is), and there seem to be more windows in the smaller ones. And of course, the abundance of natural light makes it all the more inviting. I didn't much like the cavelike darkness of the first apartment, but that's just me ;)
And, as if this review isn't already long enough ;)...
I believe that the negative comments are unfair. My experience is that when you pay your rent ON TIME, and are in good standing with the leasing office... you won't run into any problems. If you do, then they are all the more willing (obviously) to work with you. If this person's child was locked out (which I doubt), I'm sure that they violated no policy. You have to pay your rent. Otherwise, you don't have a place to live (and that means your children, too). But there are plenty of children (of all ages and walks of life) around. And it's safe. Check it out for yourself, if you have doubts.
