I recently moved out of Austin Pointe after living there for 2 1/2 years. I lived in two different sized apartments while there. Both had disgusting carpet that I was told would be replaced after I moved out. A lot of good that did me! I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau after repeated maintenance requests to have my dishwasher replaced. John Salazar told me that I was put on a waiting list and that I would receive my new dish washer within a few months as they only got 1 or 2 per month...after waiting 2 months, I called the office to ask if it was in yet and the leasing agent laughed and said, "We don't have a waiting list for new appliances! We just order them when we need them!" One still did not get ordered for me at that point and finally when the BBB contacted them, they got on the ball and changed the dishwasher and apologized to me, of course blaming it on the fact that managment had changed in this time frame. This apartment has a rotating staff because I'm sure no one wants to work there long so be prepared for the same kind of problems if you move here. The place used to be ok, especially for the price, before the Hurricane Katrina victims moved in. Preteen, teenage, and young adults are always walking around yelling at one another, smoking marijuana as if it were a cigarette, sitting on the stairs outside your apartment (mind you they don't live in any of the apartments around but have just randomly chosen to sit on your doorstep instead of the one in front of their own home). I have seen kids peeing in the bushes, throwing rocks, breaking bottles, and playing with shopping carts that they have brought home from the grocery store across the street. A neighbor of mine had complained that they hit her car with a shopping cart as well. The Katrina adults aren't much better. They spend their days wandering around drinking liquor from a paper bag and being just as loud as the kids. The only time this place is quiet is in the morning between 7-9 because none of them are outside causing problems. I've also seen these people dumping their car oil right into the grass without any hesitation. I've called the police 3 different times for noise complaints and sexual harassment. The police did arrive promptly but of course the lowlifes scattered like cockroaches at the first sight of the police.

The grounds have large mushrooms growing in them. Larger than any I've ever seen. There is an old man who plants flowers at the front of the community and if it weren't for him, this place would look even more like the dump that it is.

DO NOT MOVE HERE...unless you're ghetto, then you'll fit right in and probably enjoy it.

My car got broken into twice last month! The hell of it is that I had asked them to replace the light in front of my building since it was out like two or three times and they never did it. So when someone saw a dark place, it was prime opportunity to break in and have no one see them. When I told the ofice, they seemes semi sympathetic, but were certainly not going to try to help me financially or even waive the late fees that I had accrued since I couldn't pay my rent due to everythign being taken out of my car. After that, they finally replaced my light. But why did it have to come to that?

I am a resident here, I just recently moved here from another state. This is the worst management I've ever seen. My second night here, my neighbors stayed out all night, drinking and dancing. It was basically a party going on outside my building everynight. They finally skipped out on the rent and moved, that was three months ago, and maintainence just started cleaning the apartment. I noticed that, they don't clean the apartments after people move out until they rented out again, it could be months later. The old neighbors left all their trash car parts, cans, and everything else under the stair way, it to has been their since they left back in July. I reported maintainence problems back in July and they still have not been fixed. They gate has only worked a couple of times since I moved here in July. They talk about they do pest control every Tuesday of the month, No one has ever been in my apartment, EVER! Management is lazy, unfriendly, with no concern just collecting a check. I can't wait until my least is up. I would not recommend these apartments to anyone. You can live in the "hood" and get a better living with cheaper rent. Just simply TRASHY!!!
