I moved into Carlyle Place in May '05. This was my first apt but have been to many of my friends apartments and I really have to say, these are some of the nicest. Besides the amenities, gym kinda lacks, the apartment is really pretty and spacious. The parking is good during the day, but is a little bad at night, like most other complexes.
I have had no problems at all, never any excessively loud or rude neighbors, and it's been a pretty flawless stay here. I too like the design of the rooms and the complex has a very cozy, homey feel because it isn't too large like a lot of other complexes. Also the residents are a good blend of college kids, professionals from the area, and some families.
The manager is very nice and has always been accomidating when I request something for the apartment.
I would highly recommend this property, as I did a lot of searching around as well and ended up here very happy.
