When I first moved in here, I thought I'd found heaven. Between amenities, quiet neighbors and a wonderful apartment staff, this place was IT. I can't recall when, several months ago for sure, but they changed apartment managers. The new manager is nice, sure, but nice doesn't get things done. Nice doesn't keep the gate from being broken for two months. Nice doesn't prevent the parking lot from being flooded with what smells like sewage. Nice doesn't get the maintenance men doing their job in a timely manner. The new manager doesn't seem to have the same control and grasp of what is going on. I literally saw the apartment manager outside planting flowers in the front of the apartment complex. Sure no big deal, but then she left her broom and the trash from the soil, plants and whatever else out there for THREE DAYS. This isn't even INSIDE the complex, it was on the entrance. If the manager wants to put her shorts on and do some gardening, the least she can do is be responsible enough to pick up after herself when she's done. So when I take that into consideration and think about how it took two months to fix the gate, I begin to realize it's no wonder things aren't getting done. Apparently attention to detail isn't important anymore. My lease is up soon, and I did very much enjoy this place until recently so I won't be renewing. I can't say I would recommend this place anymore. It's expensive for a place that has such low standards now. Not to mention the water shuts off occassionally without any warning. With the old managment they would inform us when it was going to be shut off.
I should, however, say that -------, the ---------------, is efficient, professional and should have been promoted rather than bringing someone else in. She knows what's going on and she always seems to have a no-nonsense way about her. She has good customer service skills.

| To Whom It May Concern, Thank you for expressing your frustrations and concerns. There have been several email updates sent to all Carlyle residents informing them of not only the problems with the gates but also any immediate notices i.e. water being shut off. It is unfortunate that our water has had to be turned off a couple times in the past year. We took necessary steps to inform the residents each time - even when we did not have prior notice. My maintenance manager and I were up to almost midnight speaking to our residents concerning this. Unfortunately, we do not have control over SAWS and their emergency needs. The other time our water was shut off, we were notified at 12:40pm. I personally sent all members an urgent email at 12:46pm. I received updates on the hour of every hour until 6pm. I sent an update email to all members at 3:26 pm. Please feel free and speak to me at anytime with your positive or negative feedback. I take pride in keeping residents informed of any issues or trends. If you feel that your claims are accurate and precise, I would like to extend an invitation to not be anonymous, but to speak to me personally. I have an open door policy and am here to exceed your expectations. Thank you! | |

To be fair, the water being cut off rarely has anything to do with the apartment complex. I've called SAWS a couple of times during the recent water outages and was told it was due to breaks in the lines up to a block or so away. We did get one warning recently from the complex management itself when the problem was inside the apartment complex. You do have to be signed up for the "My Home Matters" website to get the most up-to-date information.
The gate being broke was annoying. It was even more annoying when I learned that it was someone who got pissy and actually RIPPED THE BOX off the gate.

So when the water gets turn offf I have to go check my email to see if they notified me? By that point wouldn't I already know? I mean, I might be a little behind the times but I don't check my email every fifteen minutes and usually that's exactly how it happens. I'll be busy doing something and then find the water has been shut off and then have to check to see if i got a notice. They used to notify you BEFOREHAND. With a letter or a flyer. So that usually we would have a day notice or at least know approximately how long the water would be off. Also, I don't care how the gate became broken, I care how long it took to get it fixed. In a community environment things are going to get broken in unfortunate circumstances. Whether the box was ripped off or it broke or a monster came out of nowhere and ate it, I don't care. I care about how long it takes to get it fixed.
