I lived at Carmel for a year, and moved out recently to go to Grad. School. If I get a job in SA when I complete my degree, I'm moving back to Carmel!!

Pros- Very friendly office staff (Randall rocks!!), and some who live on site. This is nice, because they experience the same frustrations you do and work that much harder to fix them.

Beautiful grounds. Lots of great amenities, nice to walk around in the evening, sit on your patio (God, I miss my patio!!), lots of shade for parking!! Decent parking availability- only had a problem once.

Quiet community. I knew almost everyone in my building, we greeted each other frequently, and kept an eye on each other. One neighbor even brought me yummy food whenever she baked.

Maintenance is prompt, polite, helpful and clean.

SAPD officer lives on site and offers security, plus intrusion alarms with keypads in every unit. I didn't need it, but "feeling" secure is important to me.

Spacious apts., W/D connection, with rentals available, great price.

I truly miss Carmel!!

Cons: The water is on a community boiler system, and I went 3 weeks without a hot shower.

The apts. are being repainted by COLORBLIND contractors, and they are taking FOREVER to finish the job. Granted, it rained for a month straight- I understand, but painters on ladders hammering siding with bolts that are too long and go through your bedroom wall while you are sleeping at 9am on Saturday- not okay. Fire the contractors, seriously. They are wasting your money, management!!

The groundskeepers start at 8am on Tuesdays. I didn't care during the school year (teacher), but over the summer, man!

The sprinkler by the key pad is screwed up and sprays into your car window when you roll it down to enter the code.

Sometimes the sirens could get loud- firestation up the street, but my apt. had a lot of tree cover, so that wasn't a problem.
