I moved out of this place on March 31, 2008. This was the worst place I've ever lived, and the longest year of my life.
It started with problems from the very first week I lived here with repairs being needed in the bathroom. There was mold in the bathroom walls where the shower enclosure leaked and was never repaired, despite my making many claims in writing for repairs, and even sending certified letters requesting repairs.
There was the power outtage that was supposed to last a few hours that lasted over 12 hours. Everything in my refrigerator went spoiled, and the complex refused to pay to replace it, stating that it was beyond their control.
There was the leaky exterior wall that caused my bedroom walls and carpet to mildew. It was never replaced, so I lived in that mildew infested apartment until I was finally out of lease, sick for months.
There was the many, many illicit activities by the neighbors, the vandalism, the hate crimes against other tenants. There was the fact that my car was stolen, and management said only "It's not our fault".
There was the maintenance man who I actually had to call the police on because he threatened me! This is a man that is/was employed by the company and had access to my apartment! The told me to "Watch my back" because he didn't like the way I spoke to his kids. (Who, by the way, threated to punch me! A 10 yr old kid threatened to punch me!)
The constant turnover of management and leasing agents was sickening. I honestly don't recall how many property managers were there in the past year, but it was at least 3, possibly up to 5.
It's been more than 30 days since I've moved out, and I still haven't received my security deposit back. I'm having my attorney forward a letter to them letting them know I am aware of Texas Property Law, and I know they are now required to refund the full security deposit, regardless of what condition they say the apartment was in when I left (which, by the way, was spotless, even the lead maintenance man said so).
All in all, this is the worst place I've ever lived, and I'd rather live under a bridge than rent here again.

hey, what news station had chapel ridge on it for crime? I know there was domestic violence at my neighbors apartment because someone threw something from a window and the dude smeared his blood all over the hallway steps and wall! Gross! i hate this place-my ac unit was stolen!

I know it has been on channel 12 (cable 13) at least 3 times recently. The first time was for the slashed tires. The second time was for the spray painted cars. The third time was for the hate crime where Chapel Ridge wouldn't let this woman out of her lease. She had been there for a week and her apartment was totally trashed. They said she broke lease by moving out without a proper 60-day notice.

what's really sad is when it is reported on tv (really bad press for the complex), and they still won't do anything to fix the problem. They even said on the TV report that they ordered the TV station off the property.
