If you have the time, then keep looking around some more before deciding on this place. I currently live in the studio style at City View, but have outgrown it, due to relatives throwing furniture at me. If you pick a decent apartment locator service, like The Apartment Locator Service off Fredericksburg, you can find a bigger room, for a lower price. I've been doing all my research, and while City View is still a good place to start out, it's not really designed for anything other than to have 4 walls and a mailbox. Here's my problems: The buildings creak with moderate winds (more than 20mph), you can only add money to your laundry card when the office is open, the stairs are REALLY uneven and the landings are old, rotted wood, the neighbors are extremely noisy, it's right behind a major rail-road track, maintenance only makes calls "in the daylight" (as i was told by the answering service when my room was 112 degrees due to the A/C dying) and the oven is kinda useless (once you figure out how to dial down recipes, you can use it, but since it's a half-oven, the heat circulates much faster, and burns almost anything instantly). On the good side, it has a nice central location, somewhat gated (only from 7am to 7pm) on major bus line, nice view (if you get one of the bigger apartments on the hill), maintenance guys are really nice, and usually respond VERY quickly (except after 6pm), and it's close to several good schools (really close...as in if you're going home, you're gonna hit AT LEAST one, no matter which direction you come from). If you've got a tight budget, and don't have half an hour to sit down with a locator, then go for City View. But, if you consider yourself a smart shopper, then leave this one as a last resort. ;)
