I have live in apartments my entire life and have never lived in a place this "trashy". You can take that term literally and figuratively. We have lived here for about a year now. Within that year, the 2 gates probably worked a combine total of about 2 weeks. They changed from valet trash service to dumpsters, yet we are still paying for valet trash service. The trash in the dumpsters is not picked up regularly and it is often over flowing inviting stray disease infested animals and stray disease infested homeless people. There has been a broken light in the pool with wires exposed for ever a year now. The water is green and murkey and the office says that it is due to a broken pump but don't have plans to get it fixed, yet we are paying for a "sparkling pool". It takes about 2 weeks (if at all) to get anything that isn't deemed emergency fixed. My neighbor below me didn't have air conditioning for about 1 month. (to be fair, they did pay for him to stay at the comfor suites while they fixed his air...but it took way too long.) The outside grounds look nice, but when you walk behind the office, there are patches of dirt where there is no grass and not landscaped. We transferred here from a sister properyt because my husband's car kept getting broken into by the section 8 houseing rentors on the other side of the fence. MBS wouldn't do anything to beef up security. The parking is pretty good, now that certain people have moved out, but once new people come in it will be slim pickins again. The comples is also not very well lit at night.
Pluses- it is convienient to everything in San Antonio, the walls are pretty sturdy, the place is pretty quiet (we did have some trashy people living here, but they quickly moved out)and overall safe and clean. However, I would check on the crime rate in this zip code (78230) before you move in. I heard of car break ins (not surprising for San Antonio) and a lady was held up at gunpoint while walking from her car to apartment (that was what another resident told me). The residents are friendly and there is a cool old guy with a sweet ride that drives around at night. He makes for good conversation.

I also forgot to mention the lack of a fitness room. 1/2 of the treadmills work, someone stole the TV and stand, the watercooler, the water coolerstand, some of the freeweights, and some of the equipment for the big thing with all the parts (sorry, I can't think of the real name for it.)
