Bad, Bad Management

We have lived here for only a short time. In this time, we have had several unpleasant run-ins with the Manager, Susan. She is unfriendly, unhelpful, and basically a nightmare to deal with. All the other office personnel are usually friendly and helpful. She believes that we are here to pay her salary, and not much else. If you have problems with your unit, you're better off waiting and speaking to one of the apartment personnel. Upon moving in, there was pet hair on EVERY windowsill, and both bathrooms needed to be severely cleaned.
During one heavy rainstorm, we had a leak, and were told that maintenance could not come out, because, you guessed it... it was raining.
And if you have pets, DO NOT MOVE IN HERE!!!! There is an unheard of $500 pet deposit, $250 of which is non-refundable. The explanation for that was IN CASE they had to clean the carpets. Aren?t they supposed to clean the carpets after each resident moves out'' We own our own rug cleaner, and were told that did not make a difference.
I had gone to talk to her about a problem with the apartment, and was told that she would not help me because I had an attitude, and it was not her responsibility to deal with my attitude. I?m sorry, but for $800 a month, she should be responsible to deal with ALL my apartment concerns, whether I have an attitude or not. When I asked who the property owner/management was, her response was that she did not have to give me that information.
This is a nice size apartment, in a good location. But, due to the piss poor manager, we will not be renewing our lease. Hopefully, more residents here will complain about her, and either the owners, or the property management company, will take notice and do something to ensure their residents happiness.
