I moved to San Antonio in 1999. Before I moved down I came down a few times looking at availability and status of many apartments that I was interesting in living at. On one of my visits, I came across Doral Club... The apartment was very laid out well with the dining room being separate from the living room area. I was impressed by my first impression. I decided to put down my deposit and told the apt leasing agent at the time (Victor) the specific day I needed the apartment as I would be moving on this day. He said there would be no problem and even wrote it down in my file... On the day that I moved all my belongings with me from Indiana, Victor was working and told me that the apartment was not ready. Here I was stuck with a rental truck and no place to stay besides going to a hotel for a week until the apartment needed to be ready for move in. With no apology to me I had incurred unexpected expenses with living at a hotel while driving with all my belongings in a rental truck. I called the rental truck company and they were very understanding of the matter. They didnt charge me for a couple days for the truck.

Upon my move in I found out that the screen door did not latch right and it eventually fell off the track. I wrote it in my move in inpection list and pointed it out to Victor when I turned in that form that I needed it fixed. He said NO PROBLEM and would write up an invoice to get it fixed. Until the day I moved out, maintenance never came and fixed the problem.
During the summer time, the air conditioning was not a big help. Some days it was hotter in my apartment then it was outside. I brought it to the office staff's attention, but again it never got fixed.. Security was not very good either. About every 2-3 weeks we would get a memo that an apartment or car was broken into. Granted the complex was gated. many times the gates were open all the time for anyone to come into the complex.

There were only a few bright spots to live at oral Club. As much as the office staff is not very helpful, they did have many special activities for the residents to enjoy such as Christmas parties in the clubhouse and summer pool parties where they did cook out for the residents. The grounds are kepted up as they have contractors come in to tend to the grass and shurbbery. But they did have a problem with trash bins that over-flowed all the time and the parking lot had both pot holes that were not patched up.

The only reason I stayed there so long was that the apartment itself was layed out good and affordable for the price, Upon the renewels, I couldnt find another apartment that suited me with the area of town I wanted to stay aroud and close to my work.

After my move out I was very impressed with the timely matter of my deposit being refunded.

With the area of Northwest San Antonio, the apartment is very convienent to highways, shopping, dining and even Sea World. And the apartment is affordable for what size apartment you rent compared to surrounding apartments in the area.
