The place is great, the management is questionable.

Years at this apartment:
2004
-
2006
I lived there from Nov 2004 to December 2006. When I first arrived, everything was great. There was rarely anything wrong and when there was, maintenance arrived when promised. Trash was collected when scheduled and disposed of properly and the rest of the property was well maintained. The office staff was always very nice and frequently did favors (like allowing you to leave your larger parcel packages with them for UPS to pick up). There are families with small children AND college students living there but, with the exception of maybe two nights the entire two years I was living there, I never had a noise problem with anyone. Parking can be a challenge, but if you get an apartment in building #5, there's plenty of parking in the back and the walk was NOT that bad. I easily carried several bags of groceries from my car to my front door without any problems. Lighting was sufficient and I always felt safe.
However I think management changed around June of 2006. That's when I started noticing problems in the area. The trash wasn't collected as regularly as it used to be, the property started looking a little shoddy (the grass was dead in some areas - something I'd never seen before), and maintenance wasn't always readily available.
I moved out because I purchased a home - not because I had any particular fault with the property - but I must agree with some of the comments regarding the new staff. They didn't seem to care to get to know the residents and their treatment of me, although always professional, was cold. Anyway, shortly after I moved out, I called in to confirm that my deposit would be refunded - I was assured that it would be. Now, I have a cat and also paid a $300 pet deposit ($150 refundable) when I signed my first lease back in November 2004. When I asked about THAT refund, I was told they had no record of me having a cat. (Remember, this is the new management). I looked through my old paperwork, found the document regarding their pet policy, and even managed to find the TWO checks I wrote for the pet deposit (plus my bank statements proving the checks had been cashed). I took all of it to the office and I was told they would investigate. I called every day until finally someone told me they had no record of the pet deposit or the policy back in 2004 and that if I wished to pursue the issue, I could contact the management's corporate office. Three guesses as to how that turned out.
So I was out $150 for my pet rent and had experienced some not-so-nice attitudes from the office staff my last six months there. Other than that, I really have no complaints. Remember - a pleasant living experience is only as good as the staff providing it. It might be a good idea to avoid this property until management changes again. My ratings are based on my experiences BEFORE management changed as I feel I didn't have enough interaction with the new management before I moved out to make a fair assessment. odusyNYCcZ7yL3Bj5JtG
