Probably the worst decision I ever made.

Dymaxion Apartments actually look fairly decent when you drive up on them. However, when you actually move in and sign the lease, you see a different side. In my expiriences, after the people who lived in the apartment above mine moved out, there were barrels of trash being hauled out. When maintenence proceeded to have the apartment upstairs bombed for insects, all of the insects from upstairs came into my apartment. I have seen staircases leading to upstairs apartments literally peeling off the building. The family of children, who don't appear to have any adult supervising anything that goes on upstairs have knocked items off of the walls by running and jumping and wrestling upstairs. I have found that paying the 25 dollars a month for a covered (or "guarenteed") does not necessarily mean you will be able to park there. On average, I was able to park in my parking space about 65% of the time. My friends are afraid of driving to my apartment because my car has been broken into so many times. The answering service for the apartments is appalling, and whomever answers the phone is continually rude with you, as if there is something else they could be doing other than the job they are paid for. When my apartment flooded, the answering service asked if it was a problem that "really needed to be taken care of tonight, or could it wait until the morning'" while there is sewage all over the carpet. Dymaxion Apartments advertise themselves as a gated community, which must mean that there IS a gate, but it never works, or only the exit gate works when people don't go out and break it. Maintenence has always been helpful, and the office staff as well, but I also cannot say much for the person in charge of closing down the pool, who happens to do so whenever they please, regardless of the closing time posted on the sign. All in all, it has been a bad expirience. The next time I rent an apartment, I guess I will have to actually visit the place several times, morning, noon, and night to find out what really goes on.
