I moved from out of state to come to this apartment complex specifically. As soon as the paperwork was signed they have been treating me like I've been doing something wrong.

I had a few issues with cashing the first check from my current job due to having an out of state bank. I ended up paying them in person right before they opened on the 5th of the month. I apologized - explained that I had been work all night otherwise it would have been in the previous day, and they sent me on my way. Two weeks later I was accused of paying rent late and ignoring my late fee. They then threatened to charge me a late fee ON THE LATE FEE of over $200.00 because I had neglected it for so long. I talked with them repeatedly about my situation and explained that it would not happen again. Eventually they accepted a flat late fee charge of 85 dollars for the initial late fee. I figured it wouldn't happen again. The entire time I was treated like a repeat offender and they refused to listen to me or work with me at all.

Every time since then I refuse to enter the office for any longer than I need to - if I do I get dirty looks and treated like a criminal. They even argue about taking my rent checks from me and have threated me just recently with not accepting personal checks although every one I've written to them was good.

If an AIMCO representative is reading this - YOUR STAFF IS NOT DOING A GOOD JOB AT ALL. Unless you think a good job means making the people that provide the money for your income feel completely worthless. I'd tell you myself but they wouldn't even give me a contact number to complain.

I'll be out of this place soon and good riddance. Maybe the roaches will pay the rent for me after I'm gone.

WELCOME TO THE EAGLES NEST!!! Once, I cut the rent check, plus the water/trash check 30 cents short. THIRTY FU---NG CENTS. The jerks wanted to charge me 85 bucks because I cut the check THIRTY FUC--NG CENTS SHORT. They're a bunch of chickensh-t kids who want to make life miserable for all of the unfortunate people who move in here. I'm outta here just as soon as my lease is up. GOOD RIDDANCE!!!

I had the EXACT same problems.. Except I cut my losses and just moved. Your post has made me feel better about severing my lease.
