Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008

My husband and I lived here for a year (2007-2008) and had multiple bad experiences, not only with maintenance problems but management.
First of all, when I went to tour the complex they had a very convincing sign in front of the office declaring that they were the "best apartment complex of the month" or something like that. The sign stayed up for about the whole year I lived there...I wonder if they still have it up...
When we first moved in, our fridge went out (wasn't keeping things cold, couldn't keep ANY food in there at all). It took 6 months for them to figure it out - first several times they'd send maint. who would simply chip away at something in the freezer (which wouldn't really help). Then our dishwasher went out, and we filed a work order on that. Several weeks later, they said they were still waiting for a part on the dishwasher and also for the fridge and they should be in in about a weeks time. A week later, they told me they had ordered completely new appliances, and had to wait about 2 weeks for that. Finally got the new fridge and dishwasher, but came home to them replacing the dishwasher and the apartment stunk like nobodies business (standing water or something in the drain between dishwasher and sink). They towel dried our kitchen floor and we had to stay with my mother for a few nights because the smell was unbearable (and I was pregnant so it didn't make it any easier). Then our AC went out. We called the office, they said maint. was out of the office. Called the afterhours maint line and they didn't answer. Finally got ahold of someone on Friday, they said since it was the weekend they wouldn't be able to fix it until Monday of the next week. Had to stay at moms again because I was even more pregnant and couldn't stand the heat.
As far as management goes...we were a couple days late on rent one month (or it was the last day to turn it in..I don't really remember). Neither one of us got out of work until 5:00 and the office closed soon after, so we called to tell them we were on our way from work and we'd be there in like 10 min with the rent. I don't remember her name, but the bookkeeper at the time answered and said she should be there and if not to put it in the dropbox. When we got there, she was still there - she had just locked the office door and I tapped on it. She turned and looked at me, and then drew the blinds. She wouldn't open the door or anything, so my husband walked to the other side of the office and put the check in the dropbox. I was appalled and offended by how rude this lady was on this and several other occasions.
Not really any complaints on neighbors, although we lived on the very outer fringe of the complex. Our nextdoor neighbors were very young and played music pretty loudly, they even had visitors one time and I saw through our window the shadow of one of them snooping in our storage closet, which creeped me out. They were nice people though and (esp since we didn't keep anything in the storage closet) they didn't really bother us.
Oh yeah, the pool was NEVER open. It was the deciding factor on us moving there because I thought it was so gorgeous and a really nice environment - I swam in it a total of 1 time. The rest of the time it was either closed for maintenance or closed for the season. 3mPoZ6gGN6wTPgNi4L2C

actually, even with the new management, nothing has changed! I signed a year lease and regret it now. I have reported a ceiling leak about two weeks after I moved in, have report it at least twice a month, and six months later, have yet to see any repairs... stay away!
