I'm military, and recently relocated to San Antonio. My wife and I needed a furnished place to live while we waited to move into our house. We were in a hurry to find something, and ended up renting a "corporate" apartment at the Enclave. First, a few good things about the community--pets allowed, no deposit for the corporate apartment, day-to-day lease available, easy termination, nice fitness center. Now for the bad things...unfortunately, there are quite a few. Our apartment was near the pool, and the noise level was almost intolerable. Yelling, screaming, and splashing were the norm until 10:00 every night. A few times, we were woken up by people using the pool in the middle of the night. The trash around the pool area was unacceptable, especially on the weekend. There is one trash can, and by Sunday night it's overflowing with beer cans and pizza boxes. I was afraid to get in the water, because it never looked clean. After a few days of heavy rain, the water was brown. The Enclave's solution was to close the pool until the water looked blue again. Uncleanliness is a common theme at these apartments. There's only one place to dump household trash, and it's always overflowing. Once you get within 50 feet of the compactor, the smell is overpowering. The basketball and tennis courts always have trash blowing around, and I wonder if the fitness center equipment has ever been cleaned! My wife never felt safe, especially after her car was broken into. There are random people walking around the parking lots 24 hours a day. The security gate was broken half the time, and even when it worked people either tailgated through the gate, or entered through the exit when someone left. I observed the so-called security guards sit and watch people do this repeatedly one night without saying a word. One guard even contributed to the overall uncleanliness by flicking his lit cigarette onto the parking lot. In the six weeks we lived there, the water was out three times! There was little to no warning; just a note on the door that said "Sorry". I realize that a broken pipe can't be predicted, but it says something about the quality of construction. The management was sketchy at best. When my wife reported her vehicle break-in, she was greeted with a shrug of the shoulders and the comment "We're not liable!" A new manager came in just as we were leaving, so maybe things have improved. I do not recommend these apartments. I have no reason to bad mouth the Enclave. I'm not some deadbeat who didn't pay the rent, I'm just a regular guy who needed a place to live. I've lived in many, many apartments in my life, and this is one of the worst. To my military brothers out there...watch out, this looks like a place that invites trouble!

Hello to some recent Enclave corporate apt. dwellers. I was sorry to read your review, but understand everyone has the right to their own opinion. I AM the "new" manager, however I've actually been managing here since 2000. I was called away to manage/oversee renovations to our sister property in North Central SA for the past 18 months. I have returned to The Enclave and do hear the concerns. Things have improved and I invite everyone BUT "trouble" to a grand visit and tour!
