My TRUE experience

To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to comment on some rather disappointing reviews of the Enclave Apartment in San Antonio, TX; as seen on Apartment Ratings.com. It seems that the internet has afforded many people the faceless wall-space to complain at will, without regard to how their comments affect the parties involved. As a previous long-time resident, please allow me the opportunity to share my experience with you in regards to The Enclave Apartments in San Antonio, TX.
In 1998, as a direct result of a 100 year flood that ingulfed San Antonio, my Mother and I moved into the Enclave Apartments. Since both of our had been flooded, the Enclave initially served as a temporary housing solution, until repairs could be made, and we could return. After a few months, my Mother moved back to her home, and I decided to renew the lease, and stay on.
My friends would ask time and again in the fall when lease renewal came up, "are you moving this year". Until this year, the answer has been the same. "Not yet, I like it here". And why not'
The apartments were about 5-7 minutes from local businesses, and 20 minutes to anywhere in the city. Who would not like a friendly staff that is both professional, and personnable' True, there is crime in the area; but other areas of San Antonio are certainly not exempt. Should the apartments scrutinize background checks a bit further before allowing move ins' Perhaps. Is the traffic a mess; well yes, but one can hardly blame the apartments for the city of San Antonio's latest project.
All in all, Monica Powell's management team does a good job with what they have; and more importantly, they treat their residents and guests with respect. One of the smartest things they have done is have staff living on the property. I have personnally witnessed the assistant manager, Orlando, intervene in a situation very late at night between the local police department and a relative, because a resident was possibly in danger. While this was not a daily incident; it is rare to see somone take their job heart in this manner.
Within a 10 year period, there have been a reasonable number of maintenance issues. Each of these were addressed within 1 business day; if not the same day. If John's team could not complete the job, they would communicate status of the work order with a note. While these examples are simply how leasing professionals should respond; the reality is that most do not. Just ask anyone who lives in an apartment; am certain they have many stories to tell. However few of those stories would include getting your deposit back after 10 years of residence. Mine does. Good record keeping guys!
So, is the Enclave the perfect team who never has a bad day' (well no- but then again who is') Perhaps it is true that most people get what they expect. The other residents who chose to blog their complaints about the Enclave to the world, instead of resolving them with the management team, probably would not be happy anywhere.
Thank-You for allowing me the opportunity to share my experiences at The Enclave apartments in San Antonio. It would be most fitting to take the time to recognize Monica and her team, Orlando, Eve, Keri, and John, for a job well done: day in day out.
Sincerely,
C.M. Dillingham
