After a lot of shopping, this is the best.

I've been at The Enclave at 1550 long enough to know the place pretty well. I don't understand all the complaining about this property in previous posts. Just like living in your own home, some issues come up from time to time, but here they are taken care of quickly and with as little inconvenience to residents as possible. As a homeowner (in another city), I can say that I'm relieved to let the management handle whatever comes up, rather than trying to schedule repairs or maintenance myself. I've never had a problem here than wasn't addressed and remedied immediately.
Although I can't name the company, I can tell you that I used to be a "mystery shopper" for an apartment magazine in San Antonio - the northside in particular. I've probably shopped more apartments than any prosepective renter in this city and I can say that when I decided to move back to San Antonio, The Enclave was my first pick - hands down.
I knew what I wanted and what I didn't want. I wanted a quiet, secure place for me and my pets. I didn't want to trip over toys and unsupervised children. I didn't want to have parking hassles. I wanted the quality of renters to matter more than the "occupancy rate". I wanted responsive management and friendly neighbors.
Here, I get what is important to me. Especially since the new management (Jennifer, Greg) took over the property, I've seen a focus on issues important to residents. The best of the previous management team is still here (Juan, Alice, Jesse and Victor) so I know I can still call on them to help. The new team members have been friendly, polite and have responded quickly to my requests. Everything in my apartment is in great working order and I feel at home here.
Of course, this is a high-rise property and it might not appeal to everyone. There is no playground so unless children are very young, it's probably not the best place to rent if you have children. If you enjoy big outdoor family barbeques, then there are probably other properties in San Antonio that are better suited to your needs. If you are a student who is still into loud parties and keggers, then this is probably not the best place for you to live.
But if you like a quiet, homey place with spacious floor plans, nice neighbors, security and a pet-friendly management, I'd advise you to look here. Heck, shop all the apartments you like, then come here and you'll know how nice this place really is.
