We broke our lease to escape

We broke our lease after living there since April 2002. We loved it first 3 years then it all started falling apart. Drug busts, vandalism, broken glass, filthy basement, stench, elevators breaking down constantly, fire dept arriving thru the night, alarms going off, no one to tell us "false alarm". There used to be a concierge at front desk. Not anymore. Felt very unsafe. They will not let us break the lease. We are paying a house payment PLUS our rent at Enclave, gave up our deposit, paid $1,000 relet fee, and still paying rent. It was that bad there. They will not bend. Cold as ice. Not willing to give us an inch.

I am a resident in your same building undergoing the exact same problems. I have some information you will find useful and we may even be able to work together. Email me at jmcgee741@yahoo.com and we can talk. To verify that I do live in the building and this is no scam, I'll tell you that in the passenger elevators there is no 13th floor or 22nd floor buttons (because it's labeled PH). I'll also answer any other verification questions you need. Please contact me and I'm almost certain I can help you. I'm not a lawyer looking for a case, just another tenant in your same shoes. Hope you get this message and good luck.

If you moved into a house. STOP paying rent. Not paying the rent will only hurt your renting credit which you don't need if you have a house. i know them we went to look at the property a year ago and i gave them a deposit then found out about the drug bust. i didn't move in but the did not give me my deposit back. when i told them about why they didn't tell me about the bust they got offensive i would not be suprised if they are involved. i don't know why people today can't just be honest and civil. so if i were you STOP paying...also if you explain any renters will understand we rent and have a not paying at another apartment because we kept papers and explained. Good luck!

To a Sore Head, I love my apartment and its good you're no longer my neighbor. Any Service I've needed in the 3 yrs of my residency has been addressed in a reasonable amount of time. SO-the elevators brakes down, The alarm has sounded when "smoke" has set it off. The concierge leaves his desk to check the property. There is no such thing as no break downs, no alarm sounding (ever) and a 24 hour conciers. It's good for the Enclave you NO longer live here- If there is a "stench" you were partly responsible-good riddance to bad rubbish!! |
