I've been here 6 months - never been dinged with any fees other than the water bill and elec, which is paid along with the rent each month. I get a bill for that in the mail well ahead of time.

Twice, I've been out of town on business over the 1st, and I dropped off a check before I left. Both times, they held the check until the 1st, and I've never had a billing problem. I use the drop box all the other times.

I was originally going to stay for only 6 months in a 1 BR unit, but after 4 months, I decided to build a house, and move into a larger 3 BR apt for the duration. The mgmt moved me over without any penalty, and refunded the original deposit in full.

I'm not claiming they're perfect, and I'm not the one to ask about rents (I came from L.A., where 1 BR studios rent for $1500/mth) but I have had worse problems in other places.
