Mixed Feelings

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2009

I've been here at this complex for 8 years now. When my husband and I 1st moved here in 2001 these apartments were okay not too bad. We really loved the amount of space we got for the money and the location was great too. We moved away for a year and came back. As the years went by this place has been going downhill. The 4 complaints that I have about this place is the managment has about six times in the span of eight years, the managment also wasn't very friendly...except for ---- he was awesome, but I found out last year why he left. They fired him because he was actually doing his job and helping people I ran into him at H-E-B on the Northwest side. The other reasons are maintence does their job when they feel like it and the pool was always green.

The thing that uspsets me the most is all the undesirables that we obtained after Hurricane Katrina and now this apartment accepts low-income residents as well. While I am sure that not all of these people are trashy and ghetto, it jusy seems like 95% of them always are are. We got robbed in last year that was an unpleasant experience. If this neighborhood and its residents weren't heading downward I would still be living here. I am actually moving out next month. I hate to go but at the same time I have too. My oldest child is 5 and this is really the only home she knows, my other chid is 1. I have to provide them with a better environment, also I don't want my oldest to attend Larkspur it is right next to an awful ghetto.

So basically if this place was lets say... in the shape it was when Churchill used to be "the" rich school many others and I would stay but sadly that isn't the case. All the "fixing up" and new managment aren't going to help this place. We all know what would but they will always come back.
