I have lived at the French Chalet for over a year now. Unfortunately my experience here has been absolutely HORENDOUS and continues to be. The manager is never in the office for the tenants, even during business hours. The office opens @ 9:00 am and the manager is not in until mid afternoon. I have personally seen the manager take money from petty cash and give to her daughter for her own personal satisfaction. When the manager does happen to be in the office her daughter is in there with her two children. How unprofessional! How can anyone conduct business with noise and a child running around. Isn't the manager supposed to keep tenant confidentiality' If so the manager doesn't. The manager shares tenants information with her daughter and other tenants. The Manager also deducts rent from tenants for baby sitting her grandchildren and writes it off as they did labor for the apartment complex so they could spend the weekend at the coast. If you like to baby sit for FREE this is the perfect place the Manager's daughter loves to pawn her kids on tenants all the time. The Managers daughter loves to interfere in everyones business and get's angry when tenants go and ask for assistance. I would love to know why it is that the Managers daughter lives there for FREE!!!! I know for a fact that the Manager's daughter is on French Chalet Apartments payroll as assistance manager when in fact she does not work there. It's sad how maintanence does not do there job they have tenant clean out the pool because the maintnence man never does it. Residents do it so their children could enjoy the pool during the summer. Just so you'll know the maintenence is the Manager's son. NOTHING ever get's repaired at the apartments. The air condintioner almost never works. I know people who have complained needing repair for nine months. The only reason maintnance finally attempted to repaired anything was because The Housing Authority was scheduled to do inspections. The repairs were done poorly that in a weeks time things looked like maintence never went in. Here are some of what you see at the apartments: sheet rock falling in from the ceiling from leaks that have never been repaired, sinks that leak, a.c. that don't work, MOLD and MILDEW in many of the apartments. That's just a few of the things that you can see. Maybe if the maintenace (Manager's son) wasn't on the office computer or his sister's computer on myspace something would get repaired. The Manager's family has a total of SIX parking spots for free when they only have four vehicles. Tentant are charged $15.00 a MONTH for covered parking when they get it for free. The parking lines for the free parking spaces are not painted on correctly so you don't know which lines to park between and in result tenant vehicles are consistently being towed. There is SOOOOO MUCH MORE but you'll hopefully see it on DEFENDERS!! DO NOT EVER LIVE HERE.
