Be careful, management will rip you off. Last fall I was looking for my first apartment in SA and Hearthstone Apartments looked pretty decent. Well I talked to some fat, --- guy who worked in the office and we agreed to have a lease for 9 months (since I'm a college student from Dallas). Well turns out a couple of days later that same guy calls me on the phone to tell me that my application was approved and that I needed to come and sign the 12 month lease we had agreed on. I told him that the only reason why I paid 50 dollars for the application was because we had agreed on a 9 month lease. Well then he started to deny that so my father and I went up to the office to speak with the main manager. After speaking with the ??main?? manager she then tells us that if we wanted to get the 9 month lease I would have to pay a higher rent. I then told her I refused to pay 500 for a studio apartment in a ghetto looking neighborhood. I demanded to get a refund for my application fee but they did not want to give it to me so I then ask for my information back and they told me that they had to keep it on file. Why do they need the information of someone who wasn't even going to live in the apartments' That really pissed my off since they had all of my personal information. Lord knows what things they could do to me since that whole office staff looked pretty shady. Renters Beware! Hearthstone Apartments only care about themselves.
