I lived in Hearthstone from 2001 until 2007. The second to last year of my lease we were having a lot of problems. The corporate office kept changing the staff and so it seemed like nobody could really get anything done because they were new. Prior to signing my last lease with them (Fall of 2006), they kept quoting me higher prices and the staff didn't want to take responsibility for one of their screw ups. Although the maintenance staff was ok, they are spread pretty thin due to there only be a few of them and it's an old complex. However, they seemed to have put someone stable in place around the time I moved out and I think things were improving. Everyone's statements about crime may be true, but personally i never had any problems with break ins or my car getting broken into. There's not a whole lot the staff can do about it unless they want to hire snipers to pick off people who look suspicious. When i checked out the lady was cool and didn't mind signing a statement saying that my apartment was fine. Anyway, it's not the Hyatt, but it's not the broken down tenament that some people make it out to be.
